Harbour Police Department that I requested in order to enhance the flow of communication
and transparency.

Narrative / Comments
An off -duty Bal Harbour police officer observed a residential burglary in progress near his residence.
The officer notified Miami Dade Police and provided a detailed description on the offenders and
their vehicle. Subsequently a Miami Dade Police detective stopped the vehicle and an arrest was
made. The Bal Harbour officer did not take police action, he only served as a witness. Due to his
alertness and keen observation, a felon was arrested and the property taken from the residence
was recovered.

Narrative / Comments
While conducting his parking lot patrol, A Bal Harbour Shops security guard observed a vehicle with
a broken window. Suspecting that a burglary had occurred he notified the police department and
located the driver which confirmed that someone had burglarized the vehicle and removed property.
The incident shall be followed up by the detective bureau.

Narrative / Comments
While on his way to work, a Bal Harbour police officer observed a male laying on the roadway.
Bystanders advised the officer the individual had been struck by a vehicle that had fled the scene.
The officer rendered aid and obtained a detailed description of the suspected vehicle which was
broadcasted regionally. He remained by the victim until the arrival of the Miami Beach Police
Department.

Haulover Inlet
Narrative / Comments
The Bal Harbour marine patrol received a request for assistance in the Haulover Inlet regarding a
capsized vessel. The officers along with Miami Dade Police marine patrol located the capsized
vessel and its occupants and retrieved them from the water. There were no reported injuries.

Narrative / Comments
The Bal Harbour Police Department was alerted to a theft in progress at the Versace retail store in
the Bal Harbour Shops. As the officers arrived, the suspect was observed fleeing in a vehicle from
the parking garage, causing damage to the ticket booth lift gate. A description of the suspect was
immediately broadcast to the surrounding police agencies. Moments later, officers located the
suspect in Bay Harbour Island. The suspect exited his vehicle and attempted to flee on foot,
however a Bal Harbour officer quickly took the subject into custody. He was subsequently arrested
for multiple charges and transported to jail.

Bay Harbor Island police requested assistance from Bal
Harbour police with establishing a
perimeter for a suspect at large who committed a burglary.
Bal Harbour officers responded and
maintained several posts within the perimeter. Miami Beach police K-9 officers arrived and
searched the area, however, the suspect was not located.

Narrative / Comments
While conducting a delivery to TODS Store the driver observed a subject remove a shoe box from
the pallet containing the merchandise. The subject began to flee the area with the stolen box,
however the driver was able to take the box back from the subject. Upon being notified of the
incident the communications dispatcher issued a description of the suspect. Within minutes officers
located and apprehended the suspect along 96 Street. The individual was charged with felony theft
and transported to the Miami Dade County Jail.

Note: The Bal Harbour Marine Patrol Boat was out for maintenance all week. The operators were
re -assigned to other departmental duties during this time.
