Subject: Upcoming UnscriptedBal Harbour Art Focus on August 31, 2016
The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to advise you of the next Unscripted Bal
Harbour Art Focus which will take place on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at
the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort.
An intimate discussion on "Buying and Selling at Auction" with auction experts Maria Bonta
de la Pezuela and Vivian Pfeiffer. This event is exclusively for Bal Harbour residents and
guests. Additional details are included in the attached postcard which has been mailed to
all Bal Harbour residents.

MARIA BONTA DE LA PEZUELA
Maria Bonta de la Pezuela joined Sotheby's
in 1997. In 2005, she was named senior
specialist of Latin American art and soon
after the Senior Vice President, Director,
Americas. Maria has a Master's degree in
Art History from the Universidad Nacional
Aut6noma de Mexico where she specialized
in Chinese export porcelain for the Mexican
colonial market. Among many achievements,
her book on this subject and catalogue
of the collection of the Museo Nacional
del Virreinato was awarded the Premio
Garcia Cubas by the Instituto Nacional de
Antropologia a Historia (INAH). In 2016,
Maria left Sotheby's to work independently.
VIVIAN PFEIFFER
Vivian Pfeiffer is a specialist in Latin American
and Contemporary art. She spent 25 years at
Christie's where she held a variety of positions
including running it's Latin American Art auctions;
developed the Contemporary art market in Latin
America as International Contemporary Art
Senior Specialist; run the company's operations
in the Southeast of the US as Managing Director;
headed Christie's North American and Latin
American Regional Offices; and headed,
organized and structured Christie's Private
Sales division in the Americas and Asia. Vivian
is very involved in the arts community in Florida,
where she organized exhibitions at the Lowe
Art Museum and is a board member of Locust
Projects. Vivian holds a Bachelor in Business
Administration and an MBA. In January 2017,
Vivian will join Phillips as Deputy Chairman for
the Americas.
