Misdirected Turtle Hatchlings

Narrative / Comments
While conducting beach checks officers located several misdirected turtle hatchlings on the Beach
hard pack near the Majestic Condominiums. The officers carefully retrieved all of the hatchlings
and placed them on the shoreline. The Fish Wildlife Commission duty officer was notified.

Narrative / Comments
While commuting home after working his shift, A Bal Harbour police officer observed a male on the
ground who had just been struck by a vehicle. The officer blocked traffic, summoned Miami -Dade
Fire Rescue and provided aid to the victim. The victim was not alert and not conscious and had
sustained multiple compound leg fractures. The officer remained on the scene until the proper
jurisdiction arrived and took over the investigation.

Assist Disabled Motorist
10300 Collins Avenue
Narrative / Comments
While commuting to work, a Bal Harbour police officer discovered a disabled vehicle in the roadway
creating a hazard and traffic delays on 10300 block of Collins Avenue. The officer stopped to
provide assistance to the motorist who advised she didn't realize her vehicle was low on fuel and
eventually ran out of gas. The officer was able to safely move the vehicle from the roadway and
transported the driver to the nearest gas station to purchase fuel for the disabled vehicle. The
officer then assisted the motorist with refueling the vehicle.

Narrative / Comments
While patrolling the Collins Avenue corridor, a Bal Harbour police officer conducted a traffic stop on
a vehicle that committed a traffic infraction. Upon approaching the vehicle he observed the driver
in possession of a marijuana cigarette. The driver admitted to smoking marijuana and voluntarily
surrendered the remaining amount of the drug. The driver was issued a citation, arrested and
released on a promise to appear (PTA) at a later date in court.

Medical Emergency

Narrative / Comments
A Bal Harbour police officer commuting to work was alerted by a citizen of a vehicle that had drifted
off the roadway and crashed into a tree. The officer stopped to determine if the person needed
medical assistance. Upon examining the motorist he realized the individual had suffered an
unexpected medical emergency and was unresponsive. The officer summoned fire rescue as well
as assistance from the corresponding jurisdiction. The patient was treated and transported to a
local hospital.

Mast Arm Installation
Collins Avenue and Harbour Way
Narrative / Comments
Bal Harbour police officers diverted traffic on Collins Avenue for approximately 40 minutes between 1030
and 1130 hours this morning. The new mast arms were installed for the new intersection configuration.
Officers directed traffic during the process, detaining traffic for approximately ten minutes in each direction.
Bal Harbour Village made WENS notifications and also solicited the assistance of Surfside and Sunny Isles
Police Departments, —
