Carpaccios Restaurant
Narrative / Comments
An unknown subject removed a ladies purse from a chair in the main dining room area inside of Carpaccio's.
The suspect then entered the men's room located on the second floor of the shops, removed a hotel key
and discarded the purse along with all of its other contents. The purse along with the remaining contents
were returned to the victim with a value of approximately $850.00. The incident was captured on CCTV
surveillance where the subject can be seen on a cell phone as he walked around the establishment. Bal
Harbour police officers conducted a thorough area canvass and all restaurants in the shops were
notified. Sunny Isles, Surfside and Bay Harbor Islands police departments were also notified. The
surveillance video and a photo of the offender was obtained and turned over to the Bal Harbour criminal
investigations unit.

(Haulover Bridge)
Narrative / Comments
Bal Harbour police officers were notified of several males fishing from the Haulover Bridge. Upon
arriving the individuals were issued citations for fishing from the bridge and instructed to leave the
area.

Narrative / Comments
A patron of the Makoto Restaurant was dining when she placed her backpack on the back of her
chair. The patron walked outside of the restaurant in order to place a phone call and upon returning
to the table she noticed her backpack was missing. The responding police officers were unable to
locate a witness to the theft and there was no security video available. The case was forwarded to
the investigator which shall investigate the matter in association with the earlier incident at
Carpaccio's

Narrative / Comments
Bal Harbour officers responded to a fire alarm call at the Harbour House Condominiums, apartment
#1405. Upon the officers' arrival, Miami Dade Fire requested assistance with evacuating the
surrounding floors. The fire department successfully extinguished the fire which was contained to
the kitchen; It was later determined a faulty garbage disposal was the source of the fire. Miami Dade
Fire Rescue inspected the apartment and all tenants were allowed to return to their apartments.
