HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 22-39 STR Fire, Health & Safety InspectionCity of McCall RESOLUTION 22-39 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MCCALL, IDAHO, ADOPTING THE SHORT-TERM RENTAL (STR) FIRE, HEALTH AND SAFETY INSPECTION CHECKLIST; PROVIDING FOR RELATED MATTERS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, to improve health and safety and improve neighborhood impacts, the short-term rental (STRs) regulations and permitting process were modified in September 2022 by McCall City Council; and WHEREAS, a health and safety inspection was added as a requirement for the protection of the health and safety of occupants of a Short -Term Rental Dwelling and surrounding property owners to ensure through an inspection and approval of the Short -Term Rental Dwelling by the Fire Code Official for the McCall Fire Protection District prior to the issuance of a permit pursuant to MCC Title 4, Chapter 2.; and WHEREAS, upon receipt of a complete STR application and payment of all applicable fees (Short - Term Rental Permit and Fire Inspection fees), the City Clerk forwards the permit application to the Community and Economic Development Department for review of compliance with the standards for Short -Term Rentals, and to the McCall Fire District for the schedule of the fire, health and safety inspection. No permit shall be granted unless the Short -Term Rental unit meets these requirements and has been approved by the McCall Fire District; and WHEREAS, this inspection is subject to a fire, health and safety checklist developed by the Fire Code Official and approved from time -to -time by resolution of the McCall City Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MCCALL, VALLEY COUNTY, IDAHO THAT: Section 1: The Short -Term Rental (STR) Fire, Health, and Safety Inspection Checklist Attached hereto as Exhibit A shall service as the inspection checklist by the McCall Fire District. Section 2: This resolution shall be in full force and effect upon its approval and passage.
