Narrative / Comments
The Bal Harbour Police Code Compliance officers and members of the Public Works department
conducted inspections throughout the village to identify and address locations where standing water
may appear. Additionally, Code Compliance and Public Works personnel dispensed mosquito
dunks at targeted locations within the village to prevent the development of mosquito larvae.

Narrative / Comments
A citizen approached a Bal Harbour police officer and requested assistance. The person was
experiencing altered states and was in need of a medical evaluation. Miami Dade Fire Rescue
responded to the scene and cleared the male for transport. An ambulance was requested and the
male was transported to Aventura Hospital.

Bal Harbour Shops -Saks Fifth Avenue
Narrative / Comments
A concerned citizen discovered a water pipe leaking by a landscaped area of Saks Fifth Avenue. The leak
was causing a puddle of standing water which can breed mosquitos. Saks representative along with shops
security responded to the scene. A Saks Fifth Avenue associate immediately contacted the mainte,r'ance
department. Bal Harbour Village public works supervisor responded and placed "Mosquito Dunks' i the
standing water in order to prevent and control the spread of Larvae.

Narrative / Comments
While conducting a security check at SunTrust Bank, a Bal Harbour police officer discovered a
credit card in the ATM card slot. The officer recognized the name of a Bal Harbour resident and
responded to the home located in the village. No one was located at the home so the officer left a
note for the owner advising the card will be secured in the Bal Harbour police property locker.

Narrative / Comments
The Miami Dade Police Department notified Bal Harbour Police of a vehicle involved in a Hit and
Run located in the area of Harbour Way and Collins Avenue. Bal Harbour police officers arrived
and located driver/victim of the Hit And Run crash. The officers determined the crash occurred near
Haulover Park and notified Miami Dade Police to respond. The Bal Harbour officer remained on
scene with the victim until Miami Dade Police arrived.

Narrative / Comments
Sunny Isles police notified Bal Harbour officers of a vehicle identified through the License Plate
Reader (LPR) as stolen exiting Sunny Isles' jurisdiction. Moments later, Sunny Isles officers located
the stolen vehicle travelling southbound on Collins Avenue approaching Haulover Park. Sunny Isles
police officers with the assistance of Bal Harbour police officers conducted a traffic stop op the
stolen vehicle and all occupants were taken into custody without incident. Sunny Isles olice
arrested and charged the occupants accordingly.

Narrative / Comments
At the request of the Surfside Police Department, a Bal Harbour police officer responded to
Starbucks in order to assist with a homeless male sleeping in front of the business. The male
indicated to the Surfside police officer he was homeless and slept there for the night. The individual
refused homeless shelter assistance and left the area.

Disabled Vessel
Haulover Inlet
Narrative / Comments
While patrolling the Haulover inlet the marine patrol observed a small vessel attempting to navigate
the inlet. The marine patrol officers approached the vessel and warned the occupants of the strong
currents in the inlet and suggested that they remain within the bay due to the small size of their
vessel. Moments later they observed the vessel attempting to navigate back towards the bay; the
officers activated their emergency lights in order to warn marine traffic navigating the inlet. In the
process the small vessel ran out of gas and had to be towed to the marina by the marine patrol.

Haulover Sandbar
Narrative / Comments
The Bal Harbour Police Marine Patrol received a request for assistance from the US Border Patrol
regarding a vessel occupied with several males fleeing from their marine patrol. The Bal Harbour
police officers along with several other agencies responded to the Haulover Sandbar to assist with
locating the vessel. US Border Patrol Agents advised the occupants abandoned the vessel and
jumped into the water. Based on the descriptions provided the Bal Harbour officers located three of
the occupants attempting to swim away from the sandbar. The individuals were detained and
transported to the Haulover Marina where they were released to the US Border Patrol Agents.
Utilizing investigative means, the agents determined the males were illegal aliens smuggled in from
the Dominican Republic. As a precaution, Miami -Dade Fire Rescue responded and medi ally
evaluated the individuals.

Haulover Sandbar
Narrative / Comments
The Bal Harbour Police Department received a report of a disturbance at the Haulover Sandbar
regarding a hit and run with damages to a vessel. The marine patrol responded to the area and
located the involved parties. The investigation was then turned over to the Florida Wildlife
Commission Officers. There were no injuries reported.

10200 Block of Collins Avenue
Narrative / Comments
An FPL contracted company closed down two northbound lanes on Collins Avenue in order to install
new underground electrical wires. The closure created a traffic back up which extended past 96
Street and into the Town of Surfside. Bal Harbour police officers began manual operation of the
traffic signal at Harbour Way thus allowing -the traffic to proceed northbound with longer cycles of
the green light. The manual operation of the traffic signal promptly alleviated the congestion.

Narrative / Comments
The Bal Harbour Police Deaprtment received a complaint regarding a construction crew working
after hours at the Oceana construction project. Officers met with a crew supervisor who advised
they were performing pressure cleaning work on site and confirmed the project had failed to obtain
an extension of work hour's permit. The officers ordered the crew to cease their activities and a
fine was issued for the code violation.
