OVERTON g Chief of Police 4paL�E FLA , Weekly Summary Report Weekly Code Enforcement Efforts Narrative / Comments Code Enforcement in conjunction with Public Works continues to check the entire Village for areas of standing water in regards to Zika virus prevention efforts. They continue to visit all construction sites at least twice weekly, maintaining contact with the contractors to immediately address areas of concern. All of the construction sites were found to be in compliance this week. Additionally, three warnings for appearance violations were issued within the Gated Community. Two of the violations consisted of appearance issues related to maintenance of the landscaping. The remaining violation involved graffiti which was discovered on the rear wall of a residence. A code violation was issued for work without a inspection of the property in conjunction with plumbing, building and electrical projects. permit to a property located at the Lanai. An the Building Department revealed unpermitted Noteworthy Incidents The incidents listed below are included in the above totals. However they are sufficient interest to be noted. Date Incident/Arrest Location 09/02/16 Loud Music 200 Bal Bay Drive Bal Harbour Marina Narrative / Comments An anonymous caller advised the Bal Harbour Police Department of loud music coming from a yacht at the marina. OVERTON g; Chief of Police FLq Weekly Summary Report Date Incident/Arrest Location 09/02/16 Domestic Battery 10230 Collins Avenue #1 Narrative / Comments Bal Harbour police officers responded to a disturbance at 10230 Collins Avenue but were not provided with an apartment number. Upon arrival the officers were met by a tenant who advised he had an altercation with his adult daughter. He advised the officers that he pushed his daughter in order to get her to leave his apartment. The individual had some minor scratches on his face; however he would not elaborate on how he sustained the injuries. The daughter was not on the scene however the officers were able to make contact with her via her cellphone later in the day. She refused to provide any specifics and stated that nothing had occurred between her and her father. The officers documented the incident. Date Incident/Arrest Location 09/02/16 Assist Surfside Police 100 Block of 94 Street Narrative / Comments The Surfside Police Department broadcasted a description of a suspect that had committed a strong armed robbery on their beach. Upon hearing the broadcast a Bal Harbour police officer responded to the area and located a suspect matching the description issued. Further investigation revealed the individual detained was in fact the suspect in the case. He was identified by the victim and arrested by the Surfsdie Police Department. Date Incident/Arrest Location 09/03/16 Domestic Battery/Arrest 290 Bal Bay Drive Quarzo Hotel Narrative / Comments Bal Harbour police officers were dispatched to the location on a disturbance involving several people fighting. Upon the officers arriving they discovered that an altercation had taken place between several members of a family staying at the hotel. The investigation revealed that a disagreement between a father and his adult son had turned violent; with the father being the primary aggressor in the incident. Other family members then attempted to separate the two individuals. The father was arrested for the domestic related battery and transported to jail. Both individuals were treated by Miami Dade Fire Rescue for minor injuries. BAL HARBOUR POLICE DEPARTMENT MARK N. OVERTON Chief of Police Weekly Summary Report Date Incident/Arrest Location 09/03/16 AOA/U.S. Coast Guard Atlantic Ocean Narrative / Comments The USCG were notified of a plane that crashed in the Atlantic Ocean several miles off shore. The coast guard requested the assistance of all law enforcement vessels in locating the aircraft. The aircraft was located off shore by a responding vessel. Date Incident/Arrest Location 09/05/16 Suspicious Incident 9700 Collins Avenue Bal Harbour Shops Parking Garage Narrative / Comments Bal Harbour Shops security contacted the Bal Harbour Police Department regarding two males looking at vehicles parked inside the garage. The officers arrived and located the individuals which were Columbian tourist admiring the exotic vehicles. No damages or signs of criminal activity were detected. Date Incident/Arrest Location 09/06/16 Stranded Vessel 9900 Block & Beach side Narrative / Comments Bal Harbour Marine Patrol observed a vessel anchored inside the Exclusion Zone on the 9900 Block Oceanside. The owner/operator of the vessel advised he was experiencing engine trouble and was unable to deploy the anchor prior to drifting into the restricted area.
