OVERTON_`., s Chief of Police FLA Weekly Summary Report y Code Enforcement E NarrativAJ Comments Code Enforcement in conjunction with Public Works continues to check the entire Village for areas of standing water in regards to Zika virus prevention efforts. They continue to visit all construction sites at least twice weekly, maintaining contact with the contractors to immediately address areas of concern. A code warning was issued to the Suntrust Bank for a dumpster in disrepair. Additionally, two warnings were issued inside the Bal Harbour Shops to Michelli and Brodson Construction for dumpsters which were left uncovered after work hours. All other construction sites were found to be in compliance this week. Efforts continue within the Gated Community; a code violation was issued to a property after they failed to correct graffiti after being warned last week. An appearance code violation was issued to a construction site. Also, a water heater was found to have been illegally dumped near a vacant lot. The code officer coordinated with our solid waste provider to have the water heater removed expeditiously. Noteworthy Incidents The incidents listed below are included in the above totals. However they are sufficient interest to be noted. Date I IncidentlArrest Location 09/09/2016 1 Aggravated Felony Battery/Domestic 9801 Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments Bal Harbour police officers were dispatched to a domestic battery involving a pregnant female. Upon the officers' arrival, the subject had fled the scene. As a precaution, Miami Dade Fire Rescue was requested and evaluated the female who did not require further treatment. Bal Harbour officers located the subject/husband at his office in Bay Harbor Islands. The subject was subsequently arrested for felony domestic battery and transported the Miami Dade County Jail. OVERTON Chief of Police A A Weekly Summary Report Date Incident/Arrest Location 09/09/2016 Trespassing Arrest North Municipal Parking Lot Narrative / Comments While conducting a directed patrol of the north lot, a Bal Harbour police officer found a male inside the fishing nook under the bridge. The area is fenced and both gates are locked for maintenance and repairs. Signs are posted indicating the area is closed. Further investigation revealed the male climbed the fence and entered the restricted area. The officer informed the male the area is closed for maintenance and fishing is prohibited from the nook. While conducting a follow-up check, the officer observed the male inside the restricted fishing nook area again. The subject was placed under arrest for trespassing and released after signing a Promise to Appear in court. Date Incident/Arrest Location 09/10/2016 Assist Surfside Police City Wide Narrative / Comments Surfside Police requested assistance in locating a subject who committed a strong arm robbery at the CVS pharmacy. Bal Harbour officers conducted an extensive canvass of the Village and in Surfside's jurisdiction however; the subject was not located. Date Incident/Arrest Location 09/11 /2016 Stranded Vessel 9900 Block Beach side Narrative / Comments A small vessel ran out of gas in stormy weather and drifted ashore. Bal Harbour units made contact with the occupants and provided assistance in arranging for the vessel to be towed. OVERTON Chief of Police 'ILA Weekly Summary Report Date Incident/Arrest Location 09/13/2016 Assist Surfside Police 9700 Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments The Surfside Police Department requested assistance regarding a theft suspect who fled from CVS Pharmacy riding a bicycle northbound on Collins Avenue. Witnesses observed the female enter into the Bal Harbour Shops parking lot riding near Neiman Marcus. Bal Harbour units conducted an extensive area canvass; however the subject was not located. Surveillance video from the shops captured the subject's image and the description was disseminated. The female perpetrator is also wanted in connection to a strong arm robbery at the CVS Pharmacy that occurred on September 10, 2016. Compl�,d by: Miguel De La Rosa, Captain Date: September 15, 2016
