A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE,
FLORIDA; EXPRESSING ITS DESIRE TO ACCEPT A
$100,000.00 GRANT FROM THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT
OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION, LAND AND WATER
CONSERVATION FUND PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE
VILLAGE MANAGER TO SUBMIT THE PROPER
DOCUMENTATION TO THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE FOR
FINAL APPROVAL; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the Village of Key Biscayne submitted a grant
application to the Land and Water Conservation Fund administered
through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection on
September 30, 1993; and
WHEREAS, in a letter dated January 18, 1994, the Village was
informed that its application had been approved by the Secretary of
the Department of Environmental Protection subject to the final
approval of the National Park Service; and
WHEREAS, said letter indicated the Village must accept this
grant in writing by February 18, 1994;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF KEY
BISCAYNE, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Village Council officially accepts the
award of $100,000.00 from the Land and Water Conservation Fund which
will be matched by an equal amount of local funds.
Section 2. That the Village Manager is hereby authorized to
submit the proper documentation to the National Park Service for
final approval by the March 31, 1994 deadline.
Section 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately
upon adoption.
