OVERTON g3; Chief of Police FLA' Weekly Summary Report Noteworthy Incidents Weekly Code Enforcement Efforts Narrative / Comments Code Enforcement in conjunction with Public Works continues to check the entire Village for areas of standing water in regards to Zika virus prevention efforts. They continue to visit all construction sites, maintaining contact with the contractors to immediately address areas of concern. In conjunction with Public Works, FPL was contacted in order to address mosquito control of their junction boxes within the Village. Engineers from FPL confirmed that they have a plan of action and are already addressing the issue. A warning was issued to a construction site within the Gated Community in regards to maintenance of the lot. The contractor immediately complied and installed measures to reduce dirt and debris from encroaching onto the roadway. Date Incident/Arrest Location 10/14/16 Traffic Crash / DUI Arrest 10200 Block Collins Avenue Battery on a Police Officer Narrative / Comments While conducting radar speed enforcement, a Bal Harbour police officer observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Collins Avenue at a high rate of speed. The driver lost control and struck a scooter also traveling north on Collins Avenue. The scooter operator was ejected from the vehicle and sustained obvious injuries. Miami Dade Fire Rescue responded and immediately transported the victim to Aventura Hospital with serious but non -life threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody after officers detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on his person. While conducting the Breathalyzer test the subject became violent toward the police officers. The subject spat on the officers and resisted all efforts to be controlled. The subject was charged with Felony DUI with property damages and serious injuries. OVERTON Chief of Police ,;pafLj�E FLA , Weekly Summary Report Date Incident/Arrest Location 10/17/16 Fraud 10101 Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments A resident received a call from a male who identified himself as the victim's cousin. The subject stated that he had been involved in an accident and needed money. The victim wired $997.00 to the suspect via Western Union. The suspect further insisted that the victim provide her social security number; however by this time she became suspicious and discontinued all communications with the subject. Date Incident/Arrest Location 10/16/16 Warrant Arrest Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments While conducting radar enforcement on Collins Avenue a Bal Harbour police officer effected a traffic stop on a speed violator. A criminal history/warrant check revealed that the driver had a Bench Warrant issued for his arrest due to an act of Criminal Mischief. The subject was detained and transported to the Dade County Jail. Date Incident/Arrest Location 10/17/16 Damage City Property 10200 Block Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments Public Works discovered that unknown person placed a sign on the center median. In doing so the subject damaged the plants on the median causing approximately $150.00 worth of damages. Photos were taken of the damaged plants and an incident report was generated. Date Incident/Arrest Location 10/20/16 Lost/Stolen Jewelry 10155 Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments Delayed Reporting of a crime: On October 07, 2016 a resident requested assistance from an unknown male in placing and securing her hurricane shutters due to Hurricane Mathew. The victim stated that she was wearing a bracelet at the time. After the work was completed and the subject had left, the victim realized the item was missing presumed it had fallen off.
