OVERTON Chief of Police Weekly Summary Report Weekly Code Enforcement Efforts = ...n� Narrative / Comments Code Enforcement in conjunction with Public Works continues to check the entire Village for areas of standing water in regards to Zika virus prevention efforts. They continue to visit all construction sites, maintaining contact with the contractors to immediately address areas of concern. As a preventive measure, Miami Dade County Mosquito Control began the spraying of an organic Larvicide this week. The Larvicide controls the development of mosquito larvae. The spraying is conducted in the early morning hours weekly. A warning was issued for appearance code in the gated community due to an overgrown lawn. Noteworthy Incidents Date incident/Arrest Location 10/22/16 AOA/Surfside Police 95St/Bay Drive Narrative / Comments The Surfside Police Department requested assistance regarding a suspicious vehicle occupied by four juvenile males; a Bal Harbour police officer responded and provided assistance in the incident. The Surfside Police Department conducted an investigatory inquiry and subsequently released the juveniles to their parents. No other police action was taken. Date Incident/Arrest Location 10/25/16 High Holy Days Bal Harbour Village Narrative / Comments In anticipation for the High Holy Days services and events, the Bal Harbour Police Department devised a comprehensive Operational Plan delineating the police department's calculated tactics. In an effort to ensure the continued safety of residents and guests attending the services, Bal Harbour officers were strategically assigned to various posts and intersections throughout the village to assist with pedestrian traffic, and to establish a visible police presence. Additionally, Bal Harbour police officers assisted Surfside police with an event at the Bal Habour Shul. No is es were reported during the High Holy Days services. OVERTON ai Chief of Police p� \ .FLA Weekly Summary Report Date Incident/Arrest Location 10/26/16 Ordinance Violation 10200 Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments While conducting routine code enforcement checks, an officer observed a person walking two dogs off leash. The person was advised of the ordinance restrictions and cited with a Code Warning. Date Incident/Arrest Location 10/26/16 Criminal Mischief 10160 Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments A complaint was received in reference to a political sign that was not within the code specifications. Upon the arrival of the code officer, it was determined that the sign was properly placed and within the restrictions of the ordinance; however the sign had been defaced. The sign was impounded and the incident was documented. Date Incident/Arrest Location 10/27/16 Sick Person 10200 Block on the Beach Narrative / Comments The Bal Harbour Police Department received a call for assistance in reference to a surfer experiencing chest pains on the north end of the beach. The individual was located and attended to by officers and Miami Dade Fire Rescue personnel. He was later transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
