OVERTON b_ i Chief of PolicepoL,�E' FLA Weekly Summary Report Weekly Code Enforcement Efforts Narrative / Comments Code Enforcement in conjunction with Public Works continues to check the entire Village for areas of standing water in regards to Zika virus prevention efforts. They continue to visit all construction sites, maintaining contact with the contractors to immediately address areas of concern. Miami - Dade County Mosquito Control continues with the preventative spraying of an organic Larvicide. There were two code warnings issued this week within the gated community. The first was for an appearance code violation. The second warning was for the maintenance and appearance of a construction site. Noteworthy Incidents Date incident/Arrest Location 10/28/16 AOA/Surfside Police 96St/E Bay Harbour Drive Narrative / Comments The Surfside Police Department requested police assistance regarding a Domestic Disturbance; A Bal Harbour police officer responded to the location and assisted the Surfside officer with the scene. The Surfside police officer conducted an investigatory inquiry and subsequently arrested one of the parties involved. Date Incident/Arrest Location 10/29/16 Suspicious Vehicle 10250 Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments While conducting a mandatory area check, a Bal Harbour officer discovered a suspicious vehicle parked at the location with two males inside. The Bal Harbour officer approached the vehicle to determine the occupants' legitimacy at the location. The passenger in the vehicle provide identification indicating he resides at the location. OVERTON c Chief of Police rsLiA'� ` P R L/a Weekly Summary Report Date Incident/Arrest Location 10/28/16 Ordinance Violation 1 Harbour Way Narrative / Comments While patrolling the Collins Avenue corridor, a Bal Harbour officer observed 3 males fishing from the bridge. The Bal Harbour officer approached the males and informed them that fishing from the bridge is prohibited. After a routine criminal history check, the males were warned and instructed to leave the bridge. Date Incident/Arrest Location 11/03/16 Suspicious Incident 9600 Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments A Surfside police officer was advised by a passerby of two individuals tampering with the ATM machine at the SunTrust Bank. Upon the arrival of the police officers no one was located near the ATM machine. An investigative review of the incident revealed that two suspects attempted to tamper with the ATM's card reader rendering the teller machine inoperative. The suspects' image was captured on the ATM video. The suspects' images were forwarded to all police agencies in an attempt to identify the suspects. Date Incident/Arrest Location 11/03/2016 Suspicious Vehicle/Arrest 10240 Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments While on a directed patrol of the west side apartments a Bal Harbour police officer observed a vehicle on the side of the complex with the engine idling and its headlights off. Upon the officer approaching the vehicle he observed it was occupied by two occupants. The officer also smelled a strong odor of marijuana. Both of the occupants admitted to possessing a small amount of marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia. A records check also revealed an open arrest warrant for one of the suspects.
