OVERTON �f Chief of Police `p,�j°'E FLA Weekly Summary Report Noteworthy Incidents Code Enforcement Efforts rrative Code Enforcement in conjunction with Public Works continues to check the entire village for areas of standing water in regards to Zika virus prevention efforts. They continue to visit all construction sites, maintaining contact with the contractors to immediately address areas of concern. Miami - Dade County Mosquito Control has applied the final preventative spraying of an organic Larvicide this week. A code warning was issued to a property within the gated community for a construction site fence in need of repair. Date Incident/Arrest Location 11/18/16 Arrest for Possession of Collins Avenue Northbound & 10200 Block Cannabis Narrative / Comments While conducting radar enforcement, a Bal Harbour police officer conducted a traffic stop for a careless driving violation. During the stop, the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. A subsequent investigation revealed the passenger of the vehicle was in possession of approximately 16 grams of cannabis. The male was arrested and transported to the Miami Dade County Jail. Date Incident/Arrest Location 11/18/16 Theft 10275 Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments A male resident met a female while in Miami Beach for dining and entertainment. At the conclusion of the evening he invited her back to his residence and while asleep he claimed the female removed his wrist watch valued at $45,000.00 and left the apartment. OVERTON Chief of Police Weekly Summary Report Date Incident/Arrest Location 11/18 & 11/19 Traffic Congestion Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments On Friday 11/18 and Saturday 11/19, the Collins Avenue and 96 Street corridors experienced extreme traffic congestion due to the 163 Street bridge westbound span closed for construction. The Traffic congestion was most significant in the evening hours; however officers were placed at all intersections in order to mitigate the overflow of traffic attempting to traverse our roadways.
