HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-21-2013THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FEBRUARY 21, 2013 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, February 21, 2013, in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. In attendance were Board Members Vicki Robinson and Tony Foster. Also attending were City Attorney Walt Chidester; City Clerk, Karen Chasteen; Terri Quinter, Roseview Transit; Greg Stiens, Public Works and Engineering; Lt. Rod Cole, Traffic Division of RPD; Major Mark Connery, RPD and Todd Dooley, ABATE. Absent was Dian Lawson. The following business was conducted: CALL TO ORDER Ms. Robinson called the meeting to order and noted for the minutes that two Board members and legal counsel are present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Foster moved to approve the minutes for the February 14, 2013 meeting with a second by Ms. Robinson. The motion was unanimously passed. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Foster moved to approve the claims for payment for February 22, 2014 in the amount of Five Hundred Twenty Eight Thousand Sixteen Dollars and eighty six cents ($528,016.86) with a second by Ms. Robinson. The motion was unanimously passed. REQUESTS Roscoe's Coffee Bar requests the closure of Fort Wayne Avenue from North "D" Street to North "E" Street on April 20, 2013, 6 -11:00 P.M. for an outdoor concert. Lt. Cole recommended approval. Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Vintage Wheels Car Club and the merchants of the Depot District request the closure of Fort Wayne Avenue from North "D" Street to North "E" Street, Neff Street, and North "E" Street from North 8th Street to North 10th Street. The closure would be on June 8, 2013, 2 -8 P.M. Lt. Cole recommended approval. Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. The City wishes to provide access to the Premises, at no charge, in order that ABATE may conduct its yearly Motorcycle Rider Training Courses. This Memorandum shall be in effect from April 15, 2013 through April 15, 2016. Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried PETITIONS • CURB CUT: The residents at 1260 Clear Creek Lane are requesting a curb cut for a driveway. Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. RESOLUTIONS • PURCHASE DONATIONS /CONVEYANCES OF REAL ESTATE FOR ROAD WIDENING ON SALISBURY ROAD: Mr. Chidester recommended approval of the following Resolutions: ✓ RESOLUTION NO. 3 -2013 — PARCEL 16 — DOHERTY - $7,370.75: Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. ✓ RESOLUTION NO. 4 -2013 — PARCEL 1 — LEGEAR - $38,000.00: Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. ✓ RESOLUTION NO. 5 -2013 — PARCEL 3 — NEW LOOK - $3,400.00: Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. ✓ RESOLUTION NO. 6 -2013 — PARCEL 14 — WAYNE COUNTY - $0.00: Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried.
