AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE
APPROPRIATION OF AN IDEM EQUIPMENT PURCHASE GRANT
WHEREAS, on December 4, 1995 the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana authorized the Mayor to prepare and submit an application for a
$15,000.00 grant from the Indiana Department of Environmental
Management (IDEM) to purchase leaf collection machinery (Ordinance No.
94-1995); and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond (City) subsequently submitted said grant application;
and
WHEREAS, on January 4, 1996, IDEM notified the City that said grant has been
approved in the amount of $13,000.00; and
WHEREAS, on August 13, 1996, IDEM notified the City that all necessary State
signatures had been obtained and that grant related purchases could
therefore proceed; and
WHEREAS, the City is now eligible to receive Nine Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty
Dollars ($9,750.00), representing seventy-five percent (75%) of the
awarded funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, as follows:
1) The Mayor is hereby authorized to appropriate said grant funds on behalf of the City.
2) The Mayor is further authorized to appropriate the remaining Three Thousand Two
Hundred Fifty Dollars ($3,250.00), representing twenty-five percent (25%) of the awarded
funds, when the City become eligible to receive said funds.
3) All funding received under this grant shall be used for the purchase of said leaf
collection machinery.
