HomeMy Public PortalAboutMIN-CC-2006-10-24MOAB CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING October 24, 2006 The Moab City Council held their Regular Meeting on the above date in the Council Chambers of Moab City Offices, located at 217 East Center Street, Moab, Utah. Mayor Sakrison called the Pre -Council Workshop to order at 6:30 PM. Mayor Sakrison called the Regular City Council Meeting to order at 7:00 PM and Councilmember Gregg Stucki led in the Pledge of Allegiance. Also in attendance were Councilmembers Jeffrey Davis and Keith Brewer; Deputy City Recorder Melissa Byrd, Deputy City Recorder Danielle Guerrero, Police Chief Mike Navarre, Animal Control Officer Randy Zimmerman and City Planner Zakery Steele. Seven (7) members of the audience and media were present. Councilmember Bailey moved to approve the Regular Meeting Minutes of August 22, 2006 and October 10, 2006. Councilmember Stucki seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0 aye. There were no Citizens to be Heard. An Engineering Update was not given. A Planning Update was not given. A Police Department Update was not given. A Public Works Department was not given. Mayor Sakrison Presented Myra Edwards with the Helen M. Knight Intermediate School Student Citizenship of the Month Award. Councilmember Brewer moved to award the Animal Holding Equipment Bid in the amount of $17,374.92 to Mason Company for Dog Runs and $15,572.73 to Shor Line for Cat Condos. Councilmember Davis seconded the motion. The motion carried by roll -call -vote 3-0 aye. Councilmember Stucki moved to send the Solicitation of Potential Projects for the Community Development Block Grant Program to Public Hearing. Councilmember Brewer seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0 aye. Councilmember Davis moved to send Proposed Ordinance #2006-15-An Ordinance of the Governing Body of Moab Annexing Property to the City of Moab to Public Hearing. Councilmember Stucki seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0 aye. Councilmember Stucki moved to approve an Application to the Land and Water Conservation Fund to Improve the Ballpark. Councilmember Brewer seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0 aye. Under Reading of Correspondence, Mayor Sakrison stated that he had received a letter from a visitor commending Officer Tom Nixon and Officer Bret Edge for their professionalism and helpfulness. An Administrative Report was not given. A Goal Update was not given. Under Mayor and Council Reports, Mayor Sakrison stated that the meeting between the University of Utah and Entrada Ranch went well and that there is a good chance that the University of Utah will use the Entrada Ranch for field study courses. Councilmember Stucki moved to pay the bills against the City of Moab in the amount of $122,377.14. Councilmember Davis seconded the motion. The motion carried by roll -call -vote 3-0 aye. Councilmember Davis moved to adjourn the Regular City Council Meeting. Councilmember Brewer seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0 aye. Mayor Sakrison adjourned the meeting at 7:25 PM.
