A special meeting'of Town Council was held today at 8 P M in the Council Room and was attended by Mayor James A. Brown, who presided, and Councilmen Peters, Hosti, Lovell, maters, Meddin, Town Attorney Solms, Chief McCutchen. • The meeting was called for the following purposes: - 1 - To elect a new Councilman to fill the unexpired term of Councilman James A. Brown 2 - Adopt Resolution authorizing the Town Officers to sign checks through the various hanks Councilman Lovell moved that Joseph H. Hutton be elected Councilman to fill the un- expired term of Councilman James A. Brown. Councilman H osti seconded and it was unanimously passed. It was moved, seconded and passed that the following ]resolution be adopted: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, James A. Brown was elected Mayor of the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Georgia, at a '-egular meeting of Council held at the Town Hall of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Georgia, on June 12, 1957, to fill the unexpired term of the late Mayor John L. Strong; and, WHEREAS, it is necessary that checks drawn against the several accounts of the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Georgia, in the various banks in the City of Sav ^.nnah, Georgia, for the withdrawal of funds, be signed and /or countersigned by the Mayor and the Treasurer of Said Town, and in the absence of the Mayor, then by the Acting Mayor: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the said James A. Brown as Mayor and Henry M. Buckley as Treasurer be, and they are, hereby authorized to sign and /or countersign any checks on any bank in the City of Savannah, Georgia, where funds are now de- posited or may hereafter be deposited to the account of the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Georgia, and the several banks are hereby authorized to accept their signatures; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in the atsence of the Mayor from his official duties, that Alex Meddin, as Acting °Mayor, be authorized to sign and /or countersign checks against the several accounts of said Town in the Several banks in the City of Savannah, Georgia.
