Bal Harbour Police Department that I requested in order to enhance the flow of
communication and transparency.

There were six code warnings issued within the gated community this week. All of these warnings
were for the appearance of these residences.
There was a code violation issued to the property located at 10250 Collins Avenue. This was a
repeat violation for the maintenance and appearance of the landscaping in front of the property.

Grill at Bal Harbour
While having lunch at the Grill, a customer reported that an unknown subject removed a purse that
had been placed on a chair. Investigation and review of surveillance footage confirmed that a
suspect was observed removing the item and leaving the restaurant. An area canvass was
conducted and the other establishments were notified. The case was assigned to the Bal Harbour
Investigative unit detectives who immediately issued a flyer to the surrounding agencies.

Narrative / Comments
Bal Harbour police officers were summoned to the intersection of 9600 Collins Avenue regarding a
traffic crash with injuries. Officers arrived and one of the parties involved sustained minor injuries.
Miami Dade Fire Rescue arrived and treated the injured party who was transported to an area
hospital. Additional Bal Harbour officers assisted with the orderly flow of traffic. Public Works
personnel removed the debris from the intersection.

Narrative / Comments
The Bay Harbor Islands Police Department requested assistance with establishing a perimeter for
a male who fled the scene of a traffic crash. Officers responded to the area and assisted with the
perimeter locations. Moments later, a Bal Harbour police officer located the suspect hiding in a
construction site. The individual was subsequently arrested and transported to jail.

The Bal Harbour Police marine unit responded to an injured boater along the intra-coastal
waterway. The officers secured the injured person on the police vessel and transported the victim
to the Miami -Dade Fire Rescue station located at Haulover Park. The victim was treated and
transported to an area hospital

Saks Fifth Avenue & Zegna Store
Saks Fifth Avenue Loss Prevention personnel observed a male removing merchandise and exiting
the store failing to pay. The suspect was then observed as he entered another store also removing
property. Based on the description provided by the loss prevention personnel, officers detained the
individual in near the parking garage. The suspect was arrested and all of the property was
recovered.

Rolex Store
A Bal Harbour police officer was contacted by an employee of the Rolex Store, who pointed out an
individual who had just stolen two watches from the store, each valued at over $24,000.00. Upon
the officer making contact with the suspect, the individual fled running through the second level
parking garage and jumping down unto the ground level. The suspect then scaled the wall into the
gated community. The pursuing officer broadcasted his direction of travel and description alerting
all on -duty officers to establish a perimeter. The offender was observed by responding units as he
ran north on Bal Bay Drive and concealed himself by a landscaping truck. The individual was
successfully apprehended and the stolen watches recovered. The suspect was arrested and
transported to the Miami Dade County Jail.
