HomeMy Public PortalAbout1994-10 Aircraft noise, request to FAARESOLUTION NO. 94-10 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA; URGING THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM OF HIGH NOISE LEVELS FROM AIRCRAFT FLYING OVER THE VILLAGE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Key Biscayne residents have experienced excessively high noise levels from aircraft flying over the Village; and WHEREAS, the Village Council adopted Resolution 93-15 urging the Federal Aviation Administration (F.A.A. ) to adopt a Key Biscayne avoidance policy; and WHEREAS, the Village Council adopted Resolution 93-24 urging the Dade County Board of County Commissioners to address the problem of high noise levels from aircraft flying over Key Biscayne; and WHEREAS, the high noise levels from aircraft flying over the Village has persisted and increased; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF KEY BISCAYNE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the Village Council urges the F.A.A. to address the matter of excessively high noise levels caused by aircraft flying over the Village of Key Biscayne and modify current flight patterns in such a manner as to resolve the matter. Section 2. The Village Clerk is hereby directed to send a copy of this resolution to the F.A.A. Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately -upon adoption.
