The warning and the violation were both issued for obstructed water meters which prevented an accurate reading. The homeowner who received the violation notice had been previously warned to clear the area of the water meter. There was a warning issued to the Avondale property for the maintenance and appearance of the driveway which had a large pothole. Noteworthy Incidents / Arrests Date Incident Type Location 02/24/17 Traffic Congestion 96 Street Corridor Comments: The Village of Bal Harbour experienced unexpected traffic congestion due to a sewer line break in Bay Harbor Islands. Bal Harbour officers were assigned to the 96 Street corridor to assist with the orderly flow of traffic. No injuries or traffic related incidents were reported. Date Incident Type Location 02/25/2017 Found Property 10185 Collins Avenue Comments: Bal Harbour police received a call regarding two unsecured rental Citi Bike abandoned at the bus stop. Bal Harbour officers arrived and located the serial numbers on the bikes and conducted an inquiry to determine if the bikes were reported stolen. The inquiry revealed the bikes were not stolen. The officers returned the bikes to the 96 Street Citi Bike rack. Date Incident Type Location 02/26/2017 AOA/Miami Dade Police 10300 Collins Avenue Comments: A Bal Harbour officer assisted Miami Dade Police with a traffic crash that was obstructing the flow of traffic south on Collins Avenue. The Bal Harbour officer arrived and directed the drivers involved in the crash off the roadway to a safe location. Miami Dade Police arrived and investigated the traffic crash. No injuries or damages were r lofted. 3 BAL HARBOUR POLICE DEPARTMENT MIGUEL DE LA ROSA Acting Chief of Police Weekly Summary Report Date Incident Type Location 02/26/2017 AOA /Surfside Police 95 Street/Harding Avenue Comments: A Surfside police officer requested assistance from Bal Harbour officers regarding a suspicious person in the area of 95 Street and Harding Avenue. Bal Harbour officers arrived and provided additional police presence in the area. Surfside officers located the suspicious male and conducted and investigative inquiry. The Bal Harbour officers returned and resumed normal patrol functions. Date Incident Type Location 02/26/2017 AOA/ Bay Harbour Island PD 500 96 Street Comments: While patrolling the 96 Street corridor, a Bal Harbour officer was alerted by a resident of a female who was walking west on 96 street. The female had been involved in a Hit and Run vehicle crash in North Miami. The resident advised the officer he witnessed the crash and observed the women flee from one of the vehicles. The Bal Harbour officer attempted to stop the female, however, she refused and entered the Town of Bay Harbor Island. The Bal Harbour officer notified Bay Harbor Island's o er and provided a description of the female. The female was subsequently detained and surrendered to No iami police.
