Bal Harbour Police Department that I requested in order to enhance the flow of
communication and transparency.

Weekly Summary Report
Weekly Code Enforcement Efforts
The code enforcement unit issued one warning within the gated community this week. The warning was for an
unsecured construction site fence.
A code warning was issued to a resident of the Plaza property after a code officer responded to a complaint of a dog
continuously barking. The code officer met with the owners of the dog, there have been no further complaints.
A Bal Harbour police officer responded to the Kenilworth property regarding a dog causing a disturbance. The officer
issued a code violation to the owner of the dog as there have been multiple complaints involving the same animal.

Comments:
While on patrol, a Bal Harbour police officer observed the top of one of the Village's Canary Island Date Palms laying
on the ground. Bal Harbour Public Works responded and removed the palm debris. Photographs were taken of the
damaged tree.

Theft & Battery
9700 Collins Avenue, Saks Fifth Avenue
Comments:
Saks Fifth Avenue loss prevention officers attempted to detain a female leaving the store with several clothing articles
concealed on her person. Prior to the Bal Harbour police officers arriving, the female resisted and committed a battery
on the security officers attempting to detain her. Miami Dade fire rescue was requested for the offender due to a prior
ailment unrelated to this incident. The female was transported by fire rescue to a hospital for further treatment. The
female had no open warrants and was released on a PTA (promise to appear). The stolen property was recovered
and returned to the store.

Comments:
Saks Fifth Avenue loss prevention officers observed a male concealing two shirts in a bag. The subject exited t store
without paying for the merchandise and was immediately detained. The subject was arrested and released o PTA
(promise to appear).

Criminal Mischief
Collins Avenue Corridor
Comments:
A resident contacted Bal Harbour Police regarding several damaged landscape lights along the Collins Avenue corridor.
Bal Harbour officers arrived and confirmed that an unknown individual intentionally damaged the light fixtures. Public
Works personnel responded and will coordinate the replacement of the damaged lights. Bal Harbour Detectives are
reviewing surveillance footage from various locations on the Collins Avenue corridor.

Felony Theft
9700 Collins Avenue Balenciaga
Comments:
Balenciaga employees contacted the Bal Harbour Police and advised of a theft just occurred. A male and female left
the store after taking a pair of sunglasses without paying. Officers located the couple based on the description provided
and placed them under arrest. The stolen property was returned to the store and the offenders were transported to the
Miami Dade County Jail.

Assist Customs Border Patrol
Atlantic Ocean, East of Bal HArbour
Comments:
Customs and Border Patrol requested assistance in stopping two jet skis under active surveillance traveling from the
Bahamas. The Bal Harbour Marine Patrol Boat along Miami Dade Police located the two vessels and detained them
until Customs and Border Patrol personnel arrived on the scene and took over the investigation.

100 Block of 96 Street Beach Side
Comments:
A Bal Harbour police officer was flagged down by a tourist who advised that his ten year old son was missing. The boy
was out on a bicycle ride with his father when they became separated. An extensive area canvass was initiated by Bal
Harbour and Surfside Police departments, however within minutes the boy's mother called and advised that her son
had found his way back to their hotel and was safe and sound.
