RESOLUTION NO. 2006-27
A RESOLUTION OF THE TRUCKEE TOWN COUNCIL APPROVING THE SUBMITTAL OF A
FUNDING REQUEST FOR AB 2766 DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICAL SURCHAGE
FUNDING THROUGH THE NORTHERN SIERRA AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT
FOR THE PURCHASE OF A HYBRID VEHICAL
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the Department of Motor
Vehicle Surcharge Program that provides funds to local government agencies, private sector
businesses, non-profit agencies and research institutions to reduce air pollution from motor
vehicles and for related planning, monitoring, enforcement and technical studies necessary to
implement the California Clean Air Act; and
WHEREAS, the Northern Sierra Air Quality Management District, a unified air pollution
control district formed pursuant to California Health and Safety Code section 40150, et seq. (the
"District") has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program within the
District, setting up necessary procedures for eligible participants, or their designees under the
programs; and
WHEREAS, per Chapter 7 (commencing with Section 44220) to Part 5 of Division 26 of the
Health and Safety Code, and Section 9250.17 of the Vehicle Code relating to air pollution, eligible
participants must submit the Request for Proposal by the due date and time in order to request
funds from the AB 2766 Surcharge Fund and the authorized official for the Town of Truckee is the
Assistant to the Town Manager.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
TRUCKEE as follows: the Town Council authorizes the submittal of the Request for Proposal to the
Northern Sierra Air Quality Management District. The Assistant to the Town Manager, or his
designee, is hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the Town of Truckee all
necessary forms hereto for the purposes of securing grant funds to implement and carry out this
program.
The foregoing Resolution was introduced at a Regular Meeting of the Truckee Town
Council, held on the 1st day of June, 2006 by Council Member Green who moved its
adoption, which motion being duly seconded by Council Member Susman was upon roll call
carried and the Resolution 2006-27 adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Council Members; Green, Susman, Threshie, and Vice Mayor
Anderson.
NOES: None.
