HomeMy Public PortalAbout055-1995 - DONATION - WAYNE COUNTY INDIANA FOUNDATION INC - PARORDINANCE NO. 55-1995 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF RICHMOND TO RECEIVE DONATIONS WHEREAS the City of Richmond, Indiana, has the option of accepting or rejecting donations for a specific purpose, and WHEREAS the acceptance of a donation for a specific purpose constitutes the appropriation of such property for the intended purpose, NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that the following donation is hereby accepted with the heart -felt gratitude of the citizens of Richmond: Wayne County, Indiana, Foundation, Inc., $1,044.00 to the Department of Parks and Recreation for a wheelchair accessible drinking fountain to be installed in the Rose Garden at Glen Miller Park Passed and adopted this 7th day of August, 1995, by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana. MILLIGAN City Attorney This ordinance recognizes a $1,044.00 gift to the Department of Parks & Recreation for a wheelchair accessible drinking fountain in the Rose Garden at Glen Miller Park by the Wayne County, Indiana, Foundation, Inc. The acceptance of a gift by ordinance constitutes the appropriation of such property for the intended purpose and fulfills the State Board of Accounts regulations as well as provides well - deserved recognition for the donor. The ordinance can be passed with all three readings in a single meeting upon suspension of rules to advance to second and third readings. Sincerely yours, Thomas S.
