ENDORSING FY 2003 NJDOT PEDESTRIAN SAFETY CATEGORY
GRANT APPLICATION
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret, County of
Middlesex, New Jersey are desirous of obtaining funds from the NJDOT Trust
Fund Authority Act, Fiscal Year 2003 Municipal Aid Program for a vital
pedestrian safety project; and
WHEREAS, the Governing Body has authorized the Borough Engineer, T&M
Associates, to recommend a Pedestrian Safety Category Grant Application for
submittal for funding under the FY 2003 NJDOT Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, as the Borough Engineer has recommended and prepared a
pedestrian safety project application for the construction of handicapped ramps
and other associated pedestrian improvements along the North Side of Roosevelt
Avenue in West Carteret; and
WHEREAS, the Governing Body has reviewed the above described Pedestrian
Safety Application and approved of the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey that the Borough
of Carteret hereby endorses the submission of the above described FY 2003
NJDOT Pedestrian Safety Category Grant Application to the New Jersey
Department of Transportation and that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute
said application.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this Resolution along
with three signed copies of the application be forwarded to the Borough Engineer
for submission to the District Local Aid Office within the New Jersey Department
of Transportation.

original on June 21, 2002.
