The warning was for the maintenance and appearance of a vacant lot. Noteworthy Incidents / Arrests Date Incident Type Location 04/23/2017 Unauthorized Guest 9703 Collins Ave (St. Regis Hotel) The Bal Harbour Police Department was summoned to the St. Regis Hotel pool area regarding several males who were not hotel guests swimming in the pool. The police officers escorted the males from the property and issued them trespass warnings. Date Incident Type Location 04/25/2017 Suspicious Male 10200 Collins Ave (North Lot) Comments: While conducting a mandatory security check of the North Municipal Lot, a Bal Harbour police officer located a male laying on the ground near lot "A" and inquired if the needed medical attention. The individual replied that he was homeless and had stopped to rest for the evening. A routine background check did not reveal any adverse criminal history or active warrants. The officers offered him homeless assistance however; he refused and voluntarily left the area. Date Incident Type Location 04/25/2017 AOA/Surfside Police 9600 Collins Avenue Comments: A Surfside police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at 9600 Collins Avenue. Upon the officer approaching vehicle, he observed several firearms on the front seat and immediately requested assistance. Bal Harbour officers responded and provided assistance until the arrival of other Surfside police officers. Both occupants vehicle were subsequently arrested by for felony gun possession and drug related offenses. Once the scene the Bal Harbour officers resumed normal patrol functions. the police of the was clear, BAL HARBOUR POLICE DEPARTMENT r 0FHa A, MIGUEL DE LA ROSA Acting Chief of Police Weekly Summary Report Date Incident Type Location 04/25/2017 Suspicious Person 9800 Collins Avenue, Fairfield Lot Comments: A concerned resident observed a male who appeared to be sleeping on the grass by the former Fairfield property. Officers made contact with the male who advised that he sat down to rest and fell asleep. The male told officers that he was homeless; however he refused any assistance. Officers provided him with the Homeless Trust Card for future use and was cleared of any outstanding warrants. The individual then proceeded on his way Date Incident Type Location 04/25/2017 Fraud 9601 Collins Avenue Comments: A SunTrust Bank Fraud Investigator filed a report with the Bal Harbour Police Department regarding a fraudulent online account. An unknown subject made a $30,000 ATM deposit utilizing a counterfeit check. As of this date, two illegal withdrawals totaling $15,000.00 have been made in Broward County from the fraudulent account. This case has been assigned to the Bal Harbour criminal investigations unit. Date Incident Type Location 04/25/2017 Arrest / DUI 10300 Block of Collins Avenue Comments: While conducting a traffic enforcement detail along Collins Avenue, a Bal Harbour officer witnessed a traffic infraction and stopped the driver. The officer observed that the driver appeared to be impaired and had him perform roadside sobriety exercises, which the individual failed. He was then transported to a testing facility which revealed that his Blood Alcohol Content exceeded the legal limit. The driver was arrested and transported to the Miami Dade County Jail. The driver's vehicle was impounded and towed from the scene. Date Incident Type Location 04/26/2017 Injured Person 9700 Collins Avenue Comments: A St. Regis guest was on the sidewalk in front of the Bal Harbour Shops traveling on a personal scooter chair. The female lost control of the scooter which caused her to fall off. The female sustained some minor injuries and was treated on the scene by Miami Dade Fire Rescue personnel. The patient was transported to Mount Sinai frlospital by AMR ambulance transport service. 4 BAL HARBOUR POLICE DEPARTMENT MIGUEL DE LA ROSA Acting Chief of Police Weekly Summary Report OFF CeR HARg U� Date Incident Type Location 04/27/2017 Damaged Property 96 Street & Bal Bay Drive Residential Gate Entrance Comments: Bal Harbour Officers were notified by Kent Security that the gate control arm pole had fallen off the bracket which caused the gate to remain in the open position. The damage appeared to have been caused by wear and tear and not as a result of an accident or vandalism. Traffic cones and barricades were placed around the gate and officers remained in the area.
