Home My Public Portal About066-1995 - GENERAL ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 154 OF THE RICHMOORDINANCE NO. 66-1995 A GENERAL ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 154 OF THE RICHMOND CODE TO AUTHORIZE WATER PROCESSING AND PACKAGING PLANTS AS PRINCIPAL PERMITTED USES IN THE GREENBELT DISTRICT WHEREAS Chapter 154 of the Richmond Code authorizes six principal permitted uses in the Greenbelt District including water supply works, and WHEREAS springs and well water resources of outstanding quality are generally found in the Greenbelt District, and WHEREAS it is desirable to accommodate installation of water processing and packaging plants at the source of the water, NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that the following provision be added to the Richmond Code, to wit: 154.24.00.07 Water processing and packaging plants. MILLIGAN City Attorney This is a general ordinance amending the text of Chapter 154, commonly referred to as the Zoning Ordinance. This ordinance is proposed by Robert Goodwin, Director of the Department of Planning and Redevelopment. Sections 154.24.00.01 through 154.24.00.06 set forth principal permitted uses in the 0-1 Greenbelt District. Due to the presence of springs and well water resources in Greenbelt District areas generally, it has been determined that a seventh principal permitted use should be added to accommodate water processing and packaging plants. The ordinance should be referred to Plan Commission for public hearing at its meeting on September 26, 1995. The ordinance could be back to Council for second reading on October 2, 1995.
