A SPECIAL ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING MAP AT 1307
SHERIDAN STREET
WHEREAS the zoning map designates real estate at 1307 Sheridan Street as
C-1 Limited Commercial District, and
WHEREAS it is desirable to change the zoning designation to C-2 Commercial
District to accommodate additional commercial uses,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, that the zoning designation of the real estate at 1307 Sheridan Street which is
Auditor's Map Number 46-29-430-201.000-29 be and is hereby changed to C-2
Commercial District.
Passed and adopted this 6th day of November, 1995, by the Common Council of the City
of Richmond, Indiana.

RE: Ordinance No. 69-1995
Dear Ms. Hutton,
The Richmond Advisory Plan Commission conducted a public hearing
on the petition of property owners at 1307 Sheridan Street to rezone
their property from C-1 Neighborhood Commercial District to C-4
General Business District.
The Planning Commission determined, after comments from the
public, that the character of this area has changed since its initial
zoning in 1968. The master plan calls for this area to assume a
heavier commercial classification. The Commission recommended
and the petitioners agreed to amend the request from C-4 General
Business to a lesser zoning of C-2 for retail commercial business.
The Commission voted 7 in favor, none opposed to recommend
passage of Ordinance #69 - 1995 in its amended state. Four (4)
Commissioners were unable to attend the meeting.

The current zoning is C-1 Limited Commercial District. The 'owner Shirlene Miller is
requesting a change to C-4 General Business District to accommodate additional
commercial uses.
The ordinance should be referred to Plan Commission for public hearing at its meeting on
October 24, 1995.
The ordinance could be back to Council for second reading November 6, 1995.
