A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE,
FLORIDA; COMMENDING THE VOLUNTEERS WHO
CONTRIBUTED TO THE SUCCESS OF THE VILLAGE'S
1994 ARBOR DAY CELEBRATION; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Arbor Day is celebrated throughout our nation to
advocate the planting of trees and the beautification of America;
and
WHEREAS, Mayor John F. Festa proclaimed April 15, 1994 as Arbor
Day in the Village of Key Biscayne; and
WHEREAS, Arbor Day ceremonies, coordinated by the Recreation
Department, were held at the Key Biscayne Elementary School and St.
Agnes Academy; and
WHEREAS, activities at each school included the reading of the
Arbor Day Proclamation, a presentation regarding preservation by
State Forester Kathy Martinez and the planting of a tree donated by
Vila and Son Landscaping Corporation; and
WHEREAS, the hard work, commitment and dedication of several
volunteers contributed to the success of these events;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF KEY
BISCAYNE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Village Council commends the hard work,
commitment and dedication of the following volunteers who
contributed to the success of the Village's Arbor Day celebration
held on April 15, 1994 at the Key Biscayne Elementary School and St.
Agnes Academy:
Sheila Cruz, Principal, St. Agnes Academy
Sharon Lee, Assistant Principal, Key Biscayne Elementary
Kathy Martinez, Forester, Cape Florida State Park
William O'Leary, Landscape Architect
Aimee Sanchez, Program Coordinator
Juan Vila, Vila and Son Landscaping Corporation
Section 2. A copy of this resolution shall be presented to
each volunteer specifically named above.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 26th day of April , 1994.
