AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 1995 BUDGET
WHEREAS Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, adopted a budget for
calendar year 1995, and
WHEREAS Common Council has determined it is necessary to transfer money from one
major budget classification to another within a department or office, and
WHEREAS the transfer does not require the expenditure of more money than the total
amount set out in the budget as finally determined under Indiana Code 6-
1.1, and
WHEREAS this transfer may be made under Indiana Code 6-1.1-18.6 without notice
and without the approval of the State Board of Tax Commissioners,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, that the 1995 budget be amended as follows:
A. General Fund - Police Department
1. Delete $11,750.00 from Insurance
Existing account no. 101-2-10-1001-3-3401
2. Add $11,750.00 to Overtime
Existing account no. 101-2-10-1001-1-1302
Passed and adopted this 2nd day of October, 1995, by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana.

This ordinance transfers $11,750.00 from the Police Department's insurance account to the
overtime compensation account in order to pay the increase in Academy pay to all officers
pursuant to the FOP contract signed after the 1995 budget was adopted.
This ordinance can be passed with all three readings in a single meeting upon suspension of
rules to advance to second and third readings.
