Home My Public Portal About076-1995 - SPECIAL ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AN APPEAL TO THE STATEORDINANCE NO. 76-1995 A SPECIAL ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AN APPEAL TO THE STATE BOARD OF TAX COMMISSIONERS WHEREAS it has been determined that it is necessary to seek relief from the property tax levy limitations imposed by Indiana Code 6-1.1-18.5-3 because the City of Richmond, Indiana, has experienced a property tax revenue short fall as a result of erroneous assessed valuation figures being provided to the City, and WHEREAS Indiana Code 6-1.1-18.5-16 authorizes the City to request permission to impose a property tax levy that exceeds limitations under such circumstances, NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that Mayor Roger Cornett is authorized to request permission for the City to impose an ad valorem property tax levy that exceeds the limitations imposed by Indiana Code 6-1.1-18.5-3 due to the fact that the City has experienced a property tax revenue short -fall.
