The violation was issued to a property which had been previously warned regarding the maintenance and appearance of the structure. The two warnings were issued for the maintenance and appearance of construction sites. A Bal Harbour officer issued a warning to an individual fishing from the rocks adjacent to the jetty. The area is posted as a prohibited fishing area due to the unsafe nature of this activity. Criminal Investigations Division Weekly Summary Report Comments: Detectives assisted with the annual firearms qualifications for all officers at the Medley Range. Detectives also conducted Autism Awareness Training for the Flagler County Sheriff's Office. Detectives obtained warrants regarding two on -going fraud cases. Sergeant Jack Young continues working on the Village's security enhancement proposal for the gated community. On Monday June 12, 2017, Detectives and civilian witnesses attended a court hearing regarding the subject who was charged with Felony Criminal Mischief of Bal Harbour Village's landscape lights. The defendant entered a plea accepting responsibility for his actions and has been ordered to pay restitution to Bal Harbour Village. Detectives continued to follow up on leads regarding an auto theft from the Bal Harbour Shops. Video surveillance footage has been reviewed as well as all License Plate Readers (LPR) from surrounding agencies. Noteworthy Incidents / Arrests Date Incident Type Location 06/09/2015 Theft 10275 Collins Avenue, Harbour House Comments: The victim of a reported theft of a painting advised that the property was located. In fact, the painting had been picked up by another tenant who discovered it abandoned in the hallway. The case has been re-classified as an assist a citizen and not a theft. 3 BAL HARBOUR POLICE DEPARTMENT rioc-HAR@ A�- 1 too MIGUEL DE LA ROSA Acting Chief of Police Weekly Summary Report Date Incident Type Location 06/11/2017 Arrest Misdemeanor 9800 Block of Collins Avenue Comments: While conducted radar speed enforcement, a Bal Harbour police officer stopped a driver for speeding. The subsequent investigation revealed that the driver gave false information to the officer regarding his identity. Utilizing available technology, the Bal Harbour communications section was able to ascertain the subject's true identity. The driver had an open arrest warrant from the State of Georgia, however the warrant could only be executed in Georgia. The driver received several citations and was also charged with Providing False Information with Intent to impede an official investigation. Date Incident Type Location 06/15/2017 Traffic Lights Out 9700 Block of Collins Avenue Comments: Officers discovered that the traffic lights were out in all directions at the intersection of 97 Street and Collins Avenue. Two officers were posted to manage traffic management for several hours until Miami -Dade County Traffic Control arrived. Traffic Control discovered that the traffic box was not getting electrical power and notified Florida Power & Light.
