A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
A LIST OF PRIORITY STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR DESIGN AND
CONSTRUCTION, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXPEDITE THE DESIGN
AND CONSTRUCTION, APPROPRIATING $2,000,000 FOR THE DESIGN OF THE
PRIORITY LIST OF STREETS, AND AUTHORIZING THE USE OF THE WATER LINE
(68.042) AND SEWER LINE IMPROVEMENT (68.041) BUDGETS TO COMMENCE
DESIGN ON NEEDED WATER OR SEWER LINE IMPROVEMENT AHEAD OF THE
STREET CONSTRUCTION
WHEREAS, in 2017, the City commissioned the preparation of a Pavement
Management Program (PMP) to assess the condition of its streets; and
WHEREAS, the PMP recommends a multi-year approach to address the
pavement maintenance needs given the available funding; and
WHEREAS, the City receives transportation funds, such as Proposition A,
Proposition C, Measure R and Measure M annually from the Los Angeles County
Metropolitan Transportation Authority; issues bonds, competes for CDBG allocation or
submits grant applications to fund street improvements; and
WHEREAS, to improve the condition of the streets citywide and to balance that
effort with the available funding, the City Council Ad Hoc Committee received input from
the City Manager and Public Works Director and determined a list of streets to address
as a priority.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council approves the attached list of streets; attached
hereto as Exhibit A, to be designed and constructed as priority streets.
Section 2. That the City Council authorizes the City Manager to expedite the
design and repair/construction of the priority streets and associated water line and
sewer line improvements.
Section 3. Streets listed under Exhibit A not completed within FY2019-2020,
maybe carried over to the subsequent fiscal years as part of the City's multi-year
approach.
Section 4. The City Council approves the following appropriation:

Section 5. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.

Resolution.
