HomeMy Public PortalAbout091-1995 - DONATION - INDIANA GAS COMPANY;JOHN WITTE AND THE 45ORDINANCE NO, 91-1995 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF RICHMOND TO RECEIVE DONATIONS WHEREAS the City of Richmond, Indiana, has the option of accepting or rejecting donations for a specific purpose, and WHEREAS the acceptance of a donation for a specific purpose constitutes the appropriation of such property for the intended purpose, NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that the following donations are hereby accepted with the heart -felt gratitude of the citizens of Richmond: A. ROGER CORNETT Mayor THOMAS S. MILLIGAN City Attorney The Indiana Gas Company has donated 87 lineal feet of carbon steel pipe to the City for use as a drainage pipe in the Retention Pond at the Glen Miller Golf Course. This material has a value of $970.00. The 452nd Bomb Group Association of World War 11 veterans has donated a print of the painting "Flak Dodgers" which depicts three B-17 Flying Fortresses in combat. The painting will be displayed at the Richmond Municipal Airport. We are indebted to John Witte, 40 South 16th Street, Richmond, for making arrangements for this gift. The acceptance of gifts by ordinance constitutes the appropriation of such property for the intended purposes and fulfills the State Board of Accounts regulations as well as provides well -deserved recognition for the donors. This ordinance can be passed in a single meeting upon suspension of rules to advance to second and third readings. Sincerely, Thomas S.
