A SPECIAL ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AN APPLICATION
FOR AN IDEM EQUIPMENT PURCHASE GRANT
WHEREAS the Indiana Department of Environmental Management has an Equipment
Purchase Grant Program that matches local government unit dollars for the
purchase of leaf collection machinery, and
WHEREAS the Street Division of the Department of Public Works needs such
machinery and otherwise qualifies for participation in said grant program,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
that:
A. the Mayor is authorized to prepare and submit an application for grant funding of
$15,0.00 _to the Indiana.Department. of .Environmental..Management .to.. go. with a local. match..of...... ................
$15,000 from the Cumulative Capital Development Fund; and
B. the Mayor is authorized to commit the necessary staff support to administer the grant
pursuant to the guidelines and policy of the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.
Passed and adopted this 4th day of December, 1995, by the Co o Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana.

Dear Council Member:
This ordinance enables the City to utilize the Indiana Department of Environmental Management
equipment purchase grant program to reduce the local taxpayer's cost in purchasing a new leaf
collection machine by one-half.
This ordinance can be adopted in a single meeting with motions to suspend the rules.
