WHEREAS, the nunicipality is desirous of selling waid property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Councilmen of Savannah Beach, Tybee
Island, Georgia, in council assembled, that the offer of John J. Counihan to purchase
the hereinabove described property for the sum of Two Thousand ($2,000.00) Dollars,
Cash, be accepted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute and
the Clerk to attest a deed of conveyance from Savannah Beadh, Tybee Island, Georgia, a
municipal corporation, to John J. Counihan, conveying the hereinabove described property
upon delivery and receipt of the Sum of Two Thousand ($2,000.00) Dollars, cash.
There being no further business, Council adjourned, subject to the call of the Mayor.

A Special Meeting of Town Council was held at 7 P.M. in the Council Room and was attended
by Mayor Brown, who presided, Councilmen Hutton, Lovell, Hosti, Meddin, Town Attorney
Solms.
The meeting was called for the following purposes:
1. Receive the returns of the election managers showing the result
of the election held today
2. Authorize the Mayor to pay an invoice of the Stanley Aycock Company
amounting to a balance of $5,010.33 with a 90 day note
It was moved, seconded and passed that the following return of the managers of the
election held on April 7, 1958 be adopted:
We, the undersigned, who were duly appointed as Managers of the eledtion for Mayor
and Councilmen of the Town of Savannah Beach, by resolution adopted by Council at a
meeting held on March 12, 1958, and who have conducted said election held on April 7,
1958, in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of Savannah Beach, Tybee Is-
land, and the laws of the State of Georgia applicable thereto, do hereby certify that
said election was held on April 7, 1958, in accordance with the law, and that the follow-
ing candidates received the number of votes set forth opposite their names for said
office, in said election:

We therefore certify that James A. Brown has received the highest number of votes cast
for any candidate for Mayor of said Town; that William S. Lovell, Alexander Meddin and
John A. Peters have received the highest number of votes cast for any candidate- for the
office of Councilmen of said Town who are bona fide residents and domiciled in Chatham
County, outside of the corporate limits of the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island,
and own property at Savannah Beach, Tybee Island; and that Joseph H. Hutton, Benno P.
Hosti and Robert L. waters have received the highest number of votes cast for any can-
didates for the office of Councilmen of said Town who are bona fide residents and domi-
ciled within the corporate limits of the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island.

It was moved, seconded and passed that the following Resolution showing the result
of the election held on April 7, 1958 be adopted:

It was moved, seconded and passed that the Mayor ba'authorized to issue a:90 day
note in the amount of $5,010.33 payable to the Stanley Aycock Company to cover
the balance due them on their invoice dated March 20, 1958 covering repairs to
sewer lines.

A RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the managers duly named by Resolution passed by the Mayor
and Councilmen of the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Georgia, in
Council assembled, on the 12th day of March, 1958, to conduct the elec-
tion just concluded and held on this 7th day of April, 1958, at Savannah
Beach, Tybee Island, for the purpose of electing a Mayor and six (6)
Councilmen, three (3) of whom shall be bona fide residents and domiciled
within the corporate limits of the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island,
and three (3) of whom shall be bona fide residents and domiciled in
Chatham County, outside the corporate limits of the Town of Savannah
Beach, Tybee Island, and who shall own property at Savannah Beach, Tybee
Island, to hold office until the first Monday in July, 1960, or until
their successors have been duly elected'and qualified, have made the
consolidated returns and /or results to the Mayor and Councilmen calling
said election, which consolidation was done in the presence of and
together with the several managers; and,
'WHEREAS, it appears that James A. Brown received the highest num-
ber of votes for Mayor of the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island;
and,
WHEREAS, Jose..h H. Hutton, Benno P. Hosti and Robert L. Waters
received the highest number of votes for Councilmen of the. Town of
Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, who are bona fide residents and domi-
ciled within the corporate limits of the Town of Savannah Beach,
Tybee Island, and+William S. Lovell, Alexander Meddin and John A.-
Peters received the highest number of votes for Councilmen of the Town
of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, who are bona fide residents and domi-
ciled in Chatham County, outside the corporate limits of the Town of
Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, and who own property at Savannah Beach, -
Tybee Island.
NOW,. THEREFORE,. BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor -and Councilmen of the
Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, in Council assembled, and it is
hereby resolved by the authority of the same, that the result of said
election be, and the same is, hereby declared as electing:

The regular meeting of Town Council was held today at 4 P M in the Council Room and
was attended by Mayor Brown, who presided, and Councilmen, Hosti, Hutton, laters, Lovell,
Meddin, Town Attorney Solms, Jr.,Superintendent Reed, Mr. J. V. Lang, R. A. Wall, B.H
Seay and Ralph Crawford.
Messrs. Wall and Seay protested against the new increase on the 1958 whiskey license to
900.00, they were excused. After discussing the matter it was moved, seconded and
passed that the 1958 whiskey license be reduced to $750.00 and that not over twelve (12)
whiskey licenses would be sold and particular care made as to whom they were sold.
Mr. Crawford representing Harold Stamey petitioned for permission to sell whiskey and
beer at Rosie's Place on Sixteenth Street and requested that if whiskey were not allowed
to be sold that a beer license be granted. Mr. Crawford was excused. It was moved,
seconded and passed that Mr. Stamey would be permitted to sell beer at this location.
Mr. Lang reported a water leak at Christy's at Sixteenth and Strand and stated that it
had been necessary to adjust his water bill for a number of months, Christy claiming he
did net use the amount of water billed for, Councilman Lovell stated that he should have
the leak repaired on his property.
Mr. Reed reported that they were ready to go ahead with the paving of Lewis Avenue but
the location of two trees was holding up the work, he also reported that the consumption
of water was on the increase.
It was moved, seconded and passed that bills for General Government for the month of
March amounting to $1,790.54 and for the Water Department amounting to $368.66 be paid.
Councilman Lovell asked if the Town was going to get any help on mosquito control this
summer and the Mayor stated that it was.
Councilman Hosti called attention to several old buildings which were in a bad state of
repair and stated that proceedings should be started to require the owners to put them in
shape.
Councilman Waters informed council that Officer pat Mock of the Police Department had
recently died and wanted to know if his position would be filled, the Mayor requested
that action be deferred on this. Councilman Meddin stated that the Town must economize
and that the Police Department is getting too big.
Councilman Waters moved that one month's salary, plus two weeks vacation pay, be paid to
