An Ordinance Amending Section 200.03 of the Code of Ordinances
Regarding Special Meetings for Council Procedures
The city council of the city of Medina ordains as follows:
SECTION I: Medina Code Section 200.03 is amended by deleting the stfielEen material and
adding the double -underlined material as follows:
Section 200.03. Special Meetings. A gspecial meetings of the Gcouncil may be called 13-y at a
regular or al meeting or at any other time by the mayor or any two members > writing
and -filed with the city Cclerk. Treasurer at least 2'1 hours prior to the time specified for such
meeting. The Clerk Treasurer If a special meeting is called by the mayor or any two members,
the city clerk shall mail a notice to :mm Elute'., , etif .- each member of the time, place and
purpose of such meeting at least one day before the meeting. by causing a written notice thereof
to be delivered to each member personally if he can be found; if he cannot be found, an adult
member of the family. The Ecity clerk Treasurer shall cause an Aaffidavit showing service of
such notice as herein provided to be filed in his or her office prior to the time fixed for such
special meeting. A gspecial meetings may be held without such notice when all members of the
council are present in person, andor consent thereto in writing.to the holding of said meetings.
Notice of the date, time, place and purpose of a special meeting shall also be posted at City Hall
and at two other places in the Citygiven at least three days before the meeting by posting on the
city's principal bulletin board or on the door of the council chambers and . by mailing or
delivering to each person requesting notice of special meetings or by publishing in the city's
official newspaper, or as otherwise permitted by statute.unless the time and place thereof are set
at a regular or special meeting.
SECTION II: The ordinance shall be effective upon its adoption and publication.
Adopted by the city council of the city of Medina this 20th day of March, 2012.
