Subject: Swim Miami Beach - Sunday, August 13
On Sunday, August 13, Swim Miami Beach will conduct their annual 5K and One Mile Race
in North Beach. However, the swimming race component will commence at 9:15 a.m. at
the jetty and head south into Miami Beach. This is not anticipated to cause any disruption
to our beach since the swimmers will be departing Village waters quickly. However, our
officers will be working the event in an off -duty capacity with an additional officer stationed
for traffic issues as a precaution.
Bal Harbour Village Marine Patrol will assist by way of monitoring the Atlantic Ocean from
the jetty to the Town of Surfside jurisdictional boundaries to the south.
Please see attached documents which contain the race route and additional information.
