The violation was issued to a contractor after they were discovered working past the allowable hours at a construction site. The second warning was issued to a residential property for a hedge which is obstructing the view of the roadway. Criminal Investi.ations Division Week! Summa Report Comments: Detectives sent a subpoena request to the Miami Dade State Attorney's Office regarding an ongoing fraud investigation. United Parcel Service and American Express are being subpoenaed to obtain records to further assist in the investigation. Detectives interviewed a witness in the Richard Mille fraud case. A potential subject has been identified, it is believed this suspect is still in possession of the victim's property. Detectives distributed a "Situational Awareness" flyer in reference to graffiti found on the front of Village Hall. Detectives distributed a "Need to ID "flyer in reference to a Pick Pocket theft case at Carpaccio's. Detectives sent a subpoena request to the Miami Dade State Attorney's Office in reference to a theft case at the Louis Vuitton Store in Saks Fifth Avenue. Noteworthy Incidents / Arrests Date Incident Type Location 08/11/2017 Arrest Warrant & False Name 9600 Block of Harding Avenue Comments: While conducting traffic enforcement on the Collins Avenue corridor, a Bal Harbour officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle without a tag. The driver was subsequently cited for multiple traffic infractions. After a brief investigatory interview, the passenger who attempted to conceal his identity was arrested for an active probation violation warrant with a "NO BOND" status. 3 BAL HARBOUR POLICE DEPARTMENT }oFF'CR OP�NAR@pGq �{ MIGUEL DE LA ROSA i Akf Acting Chief of Police Weekly Summary Report Date Incident Type Location 08/11/2017 Power Outage Collins Avenue Westside Condominiums Comments: A Bal Harbour officer observed a Florida Power & Light crew working behind one of the condominiums on the west side of Collins Avenue. FPL supervisors told the officers four buildings lost power and repairs were in progress. Bal Harbour officers immediately increased patrols in the area until the power was restored. Date Incident Type Location 08/11/2017 Assist Citizen 9592 Harding Avenue, Town of Surfside Comments: A Bal Harbour officer responded to the area just south of Harding Avenue and 96 Street in the Town of Surfside regarding a female that lost her balance and fell landing on the pavement. The officer remained with the female until a Surfside officer and Miami Dade Fire Rescue arrived. Date Incident Type Location 08/11/2017 AOA/ Surfside Police 9486 Harding Avenue Comments: At the request of The Town of Surfside Police, the Bal Harbour Police Crime Scene Technician responded to a business located in the Town of Surfside to process an area for latent fingerprints, the Bal Harbour Crime Scene Technician was able to secure several latents from the contaminated area. Date Incident Type Location 08/15/2017 Arrest /Simple Battery 700 Block of 96 Street Comments: A juvenile riding his bicycle on his way home came across a male walking on the sidewalk. Without warning or provocation, the male pushed the juvenile into a fence causing him to fall off the bike. The victim followed the subject and called the police department. Bal Harbour officers located the male in the Town of Surfside and pursuant to their investigation, the male was placed under arrest and transported to Jail. No injuries or damages were reported. 4 BAL HARBOUR POLICE DEPARTMENT 8 FHA 80 i Acting Chief of Police MIGUEL DE LA ROSA Weekly Summary Report Date Incident Type Location 08/15/2017 Arrest / Traffic 9700 Block of Collins Avenue Comments: While enforcing illegal right turns from the 9700 Collins Avenue Bal Harbour Shops exit, a Bal Harbour officer initiated a traffic stop on a violator. A routine background check revealed the driver was operating a vehicle with a suspended driver's license. The driver was arrested and released on the scene after signing a promise to appear in court (PTA). The vehicle was released to the driver's relative on the scene. Date Incident Type Location 08/17/2017 Criminal Mischief 655 96 Street, Village Hall Comments: While conducting a mandatory security check, a Bal Harbour officer discovered that someone had written a name and other small markings on the concrete pillars on the south side of Villa e Hall, Public Works was notified and will remove the markings.
