Construction sites are returning to their pre -storm conditions. Additionally, we continue to evaluate the progress of properties in their efforts to remove storm debris. Criminal Investigations Division Weekly Summary Report Comments: The Bal Harbour police department investigations section conducted multiple employment background checks for the human resources office. In addition, detectives developed probable cause for arrest and authored an arrest warrant regarding a grand theft investigation. Detective Hector Gonzalez conducted a course of instruction in Autism Awareness for Law Enforcement at the Sebring, Florida Police Department. Noteworthy Incidents / Arrests Date Incident Type Location 09/29/2017 Disturbance 9700 Block of Collins Avenue Comments: While conducting traffic enforcement for illegal right turns from the Bal Harbour Shops, a Miami Dade Transit Bus pulled over into the bus bay. The driver advised one of our officers that he had a passenger on board creating a disturbance. The individual was trespassed from the bus and allowed to leave after a nationwide criminal history check revealed no open warrants. Date Incident Type Location 09/30/2017 Found Property 10200 Block of Collins Avenue North Municipal Lot Comments: While on routine patrol, a Bal Harbour police officer found an abandoned 52 inch Samsung flat screen TV on the parking lot. A check of the serial number in the National Crime Information Center revealed that the TV was not reported&'stolen. The property was impounded and placed in the Bal Harbour police department property section. / / BAL HARBOUR POLICE DEPARTMENT oFF'�FR HARgp MIGUEL DE LA ROSA Chief of Police Weekly Summary Report Date Incident Type Location 10/03/2017 Vehicle Burglary 9700 Collins Avenue, Neiman Marcus Comments: The driver of a rental vehicle parked in the Bal Harbour Shops north side area by Neiman Marcus. Upon returning three hours later, the reporter discovered a door ajar and property totaling $13,000 missing from the passenger compartment. The investigation revealed a small hole and indentation on the driver's door indicating forced entry. The Bal Harbour criminal investigations section detectives responded to the scene and took over the investigation. Date Incident Type Location 10/03/2017 Assist Town of Bay Harbor Island 9291 East Bay Harbor Drive Comments: A Bal Harbour police officer responded to assist the Town of Bay Harbor Islands regrading a victim who fell from the fifth story of an apartment complex. The victim sustained serious injuries but remained conscious. Our officers secured the scene while Bay Harbor police officers conducted their investigation.
