A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE,
FLORIDA; AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO
ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH A PART-TIME
CONTRACT EMPLOYEE TO SERVE AS A LANDSCAPE
MAINTENANCE CONTRACT SUPERVISOR; DEFINING
DUTIES; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the village has recently completed a $2 million
beautification program; and
WHEREAS, the project was designed by two landscape architects
who currently oversee the program at rates of $65.00 to $85.00 per
hour; and
WHEREAS, a part-time contract employee could provide the same
service at rates of $20.00 to $25.00 per hour;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF KEY
BISCAYNE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Village Manager is hereby authorized to
enter into an agreement with a part-time contract employee to serve
as a landscape maintenance contract supervisor.
Section 2. That the duties of the landscape maintenance
contract supervisor shall be as follows: inspect landscaping and
irrigation system on a weekly or as,needed basis; provide weekly
reports on the condition of the landscaping and irrigation system;
supervise and coordinate the work of the landscape maintenance
contractor; develop a schedule with landscape maintenance
contractor for fertilization, pruning, weeding, disease and pest
control, and debris removal; respond to landscaping related
problems; supervise and coordinate work of beach cleaning
contractor; and other special assignments and projects as assigned
by the Village Manager.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
adoption.
