HomeMy Public PortalAbout008-1992- AMENDING ORDINANCE 154 KNOWN AS ZONING ORDINANCEORDINANCE NO. 8-1992 A SPECIAL ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 154 OF THE RICHMOND CODE, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE WHEREAS, the zoning map designates the property at 303 South 6th Street as R- 3 Mulit-Family Residence District, and WHEREAS, it is desirable to change the zoning district to R-3 SU Multi -Family Residence Special Use District to permit the establishment of a business office, NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that the zoning classification of property at 303 South 6th Street, more particularly described as 21.56 feet off Official Map 297 is hereby changed to R-3 SU Multi -Family Residence Special Use District to permit the establishment of a busin ss office to be regulated by Articles 22 and 48 of said Chapter 154 of the Richmond Cog)e PASSED AND ADOPTED this � day o , 1992, by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana. Street. 4 letters were sent to adjacent property owners regarding this request and none were returned opposed. Many neighbors from the area attended the meeting and spoke in favor of the proposed change. No one spoke in opposition to the request. The petitioners are requesting a special use ,as permitted under Article 48 of the zoning ordinance, to establish an office use in the structure located at 303 South 6th. Street. The building is currently vacant and has been used as a residence in past years .The ordinance allows for such use if it will not be detrimental to, or impair the natural growth of, the neighborhood. Parking for this office has been granted by Saint Andrews Church ,immediately across the street, for as long as the office remains at that location. The Planning Commission voted 11-0- to recommend passage of this ordinance by Council. Respectfully submitted, Robert B.
