The first warning was issued to a construction site for failing to maintain the appearance of the site. The remaining six warnings were issued to residential properties for appearance code violations some of which stem from unresolved landscape damage due to Hurricane Irma. Criminal Investigations Division Weekly Summary Report Comments: Bal Harbour Criminal Investigation Detectives assisted with the investigation, coordination, apprehension and arrest of a subject wanted in a stalking and assault investigation. Additionally, in an effort to ensure the safety of the victim, the investigators assisted the victim in securing and serving a Domestic Violence Injunction on the subject. Bal Harbour Detectives are actively pursuing investigative leads regarding several ongoing criminal investigations. Noteworthy Incidents / Arrests Date Incident Type Location 11/09/2017 Traffic Crash 2 Harbour Way, Kent Security Guard House COMMENTS While attempting to exit the residential community, two vehicles collided by the exit gate at the intersection of Park Drive and Harbour Way East; one vehicle drove off the roadway striking the fence surrounding the Guard House. Kent Security supervisors and Bal Harbour public works personnel were advised of the damages. No injuries were reported by either driver. 3 BAL HARBOUR POLICE DEPARTMENT MIGUEL DE LA ROSA Chief of Police Weekly Summary Report r,OPT; wR piP Date Incident Type Location 11/10/2017 Neighbor Dispute 20 Park Drive, White Hall Apartments Comments: Bal Harbour police received a call regarding an ongoing neighbor dispute that escalated to a verbal argument. Officers on scene interviewed both neighbors and determined the issue was a civil matter. Both parties were separated and a police report was authored documenting the incident. No injuries or damages were reported. Date Incident Type Location 11/11/2017 Arrest / Fugitive Warrant 10200 Block of Collins Avenue Comments: While conducting traffic enforcement along Frontage Road, a Bal Harbour police officer initiated a traffic stop on a motorist who failed to obey a stop sign. A routine criminal history check of the driver revealed several active fugitive warrants issued in St. Lucie County, Florida in the amount of $30,000.00. The driver was arrested and transported to the Miami Dade County Jail. Date Incident Type Location 11/15/2017 Possible Hazardous Condition 10300 Block & Collins Avenue COMMENTS Bal Harbour police were notified by a resident that the barge used for construction repairs to the Haulover Bridge appeared to be unsecured and possibly colliding with the bridge's support columns. Due to the inclement weather conditions and gusty winds, the officers noticed the barge swaying in the water. The Project managers were contacted and they immediately responded to the bridge and conducted a safety inspection. During the inspection, the workers discovered a rupture cable line on the barge. The workers secured the barge and responded the following morning and removed the damaged barge. Date Incident Type Location 11/15/2017 Assist a Citizen 300 Block of 96 Street COMMENTS Bal Harbour police were alerted by a residence regarding a male sleeping on the sidewalk, officers arrived and located the male who appeared to be intoxicated. As a precaution, Miami -Dade Fire Rescue responded and evaluated the male. Further investigation revealed the male was a resident of Bay Harbor Island. Officers on scene located the male's neighbor who arrived on scene and took him home. No injuries or damages were reported. Completed by: Captain Raleigh Flowers Date: November 17, 2017 4
