Subject: Cops & Kids Day Event - Sunday, December 10, 2017
The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to inform you that on Sunday, December 10,
2017, the Bal Harbour Police Department will be hosting our inaugural "Cops & Kids Day"
event from 2:00pm until 5:00pm. Based on the National Night Out model, Cops & Kids
Day is a community -building initiative aimed at fostering crime prevention awareness and
strengthening police -neighborhood relations.
Bal Harbour Police is partnering with Miami -Dade Police, Miami -Dade Corrections and
Miami -Dade Fire Rescue to facilitate safety awareness activities including K-9
demonstrations, emergency vehicle displays, and Child ID fingerprinting. Event attendees
will also enjoy face painting, live music, giveaways and the Dunk -an -Officer game which
will benefit the Police Department's annual toy drive.
