HomeMy Public PortalAbout009-1992 - AMENDING ORDINANCE 154 KNOWN AS ZONINGORDINANCE NO. 9-1992 A SPECIAL ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 154 OF THE RICHMOND CODE, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE WHEREAS, the Zoning Map designates the properties located at 1017 and 1019 North H Street in the City of Richmond, Indiana, as R-3 Multi - Residence District, and WHEREAS, it is desirable to change the zoning district to C-4 General Business District for said area, NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that the zoning classification of lots 18 and 19 in S.C. & C. Marcum, 815 Chester Blvd, Richmond, IN 47374, owner; requesting a petition to rezone property located at 1017 and 1019 North H Street, Richmond, IN. 47374, from R-3 One to Eight Family Residence District to C-4 General Business District to allow the construction of a 40'X60' building for the purpose of auto sales and detailing. 22 notices were sent to surrounding property owners. 12 were returned to the office opposed to the petition. Also, approximately 15 area residents appeared at the hearing in opposition to the request. Planning Staff recommended approval of the request siting that the request was in line with our recently adopted Master Plan. The planning Commission voted eight (8) to two (2) to recommend denial of the request to Common Council. Respectfully submitted, Robert B.
