The first violation was issued to a unit at the Harbour House property for wood flooring which was installed without a permit. The second violation was issued to a residential property within the gated community after they failed to remove damaged tree limbs after having been previously warned. The six warning were all issued to properties within the gated community. There were three warning issued to properties which had left bulk waste out several days prior to the scheduled pick-up day of Thursday. A warning was issued to a residential property for an appearance issue regarding a dead palm tree. The final two warnings were issued to properties on vacant land regarding appearance issues involving damaged trees, fencing and hedges due to Hurricane Irma. Criminal Investigations Division Weekly Summary Report Comments: The Criminal Investigations Detectives arrested a subject in an open fraud investigation and were able to obtain a full confession from the subject. Detectives also assisted with a residential burglary case by issuing an informational flyer to area agencies and following up on leads. 3 BAL HARBOUR POLICE DEPARTMENT MIGUEL DE LA ROSA Chief of Police Weekly Summary Report �1+ Noteworthy Incidents / Arrests Date Incident Type Location 11/23/2017 Burglary / Residential Condominium 9920 Collins Avenue COMMENTS Bal Harbour police were summoned to 9920 Collins Avenue regarding a burglary to an apartment. The resident arrived home and entered her apartment leaving the front door unlocked. While the resident was in another room, a male entered the apartment through the unlocked front door. The resident heard a noise in the kitchen and discovered an unknown male was in the apartment. The male fled the apartment, running north on Collins Avenue. An extensive area canvass was conducted and the Criminal Investigation unit immediately began a preliminary investigation. Follow-up investigation revealed the male burglarized an adjacent apartment by removing several jalousie windows, once inside, the male placed several items inside a bag and then entered the victim's apartment through the unlocked door. Crime Scene responded and processed both apartments. The property taken from the vacant apartment was recovered and returned to the owner. No injuries or other offenses were reported. Date Incident Type Location 11/24/2017 Burglary Auto Bal Harbour Shops COMMENTS Bal Harbour police responded to a vehicle burglary in the parking garage of the Bal Harbor Shops, when the officers arrived, they noticed someone burglarized the victim's vehicle and removed several shopping bags from the rear seat. Crime Scene responded and processed the vehicle. Bal Harbour Detectives are investigating the case. Date Incident Type Location 11/25/2017 Arrest 10100 Collins Ave COMMENTS While conducting speed enforcement on the Collins Avenue corridor, a Bal Harbour officer initiated a traffic stop on a speeding motorist. During the encounter, the Bal Harbour officer discovered the driver was in possession of illegal narcotics. IrgrPe4cL ,3! q MCp1 :,pa E, rti F�AI�a� Date Incident Type Location 11/28/2017 Assist Citizen 10160 Collins Avenue COMMENTS While conducting area checks of the Westside condominiums, a Bal Harbour officer observed an elderly person who appeared to be disoriented.
