Police Department
The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to transmit to you a positive commendation
received regarding an officer in the Village's Police Department for providing professional
training and service during a resident's cardiac emergency.
The positive compliment letter from the Captain has been attached for your review.
Join me in recognizing Officer William Myers for his hard work in promoting a positive
community -oriented Police Department.

Gentlemen, this is a testament of the value of our department issued Automated External
Defibrillator (AED), attached is a department commendation recognizing newly hired Officer William
Myers’ quick response and lifesaving actions on November 26, 2017.
Brief Synopsis:
Officer Myers responded to a medical incident at the Carpaccio Restaurant, when Myers arrived at
Carpaccio’s, he noticed an elderly male in cardiac arrest, Officer Myers who was armed with his
department issued AED, deployed his AED and administered lifesaving aid until Miami Dade Fire
Rescue arrived. Due to Myers’ quick actions and the accessibility of his department issued AED, the
male was stabilized and transported to an area hospital for further treatment.
