The warning was issued to the Brownstone property for the appearance of the building's exterior. The violation was issued to a unit within the Plaza property for having conducted unpermitted work. Criminal Investigations Division Weekly Summary Report Comments The Criminal Investigations unit conducted an undercover crime suppression detail aimed at deterring and preventing criminal activity in the business district during the holidays. Additionally, detectives developed probable cause for arrest in an active theft case. Noteworthy Incidents / Arrests Date Incident Type Location 12/22/2017 Arrest/Trespass 9700 Collins Avenue (Bal Harbour Shops) COMMENTS Bal Harbour police were summoned to the Bal Harbour Shops regarding an individual who was previously issued a lawful trespass warning. The officers arrived and located the individual who was taken into police custody, arrested and transported to jail. Date Incident Type Location 12/23/2017 Arrest/Traffic 10100 Collins Ave COMMENTS While patrolling the Collins Avenue corridor, a Bal Harbour officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that committed an infraction. A routine history check revealed the driver had an active warrant from New York and was operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers' license. The driver was arrested and transported to jail. Date Incident Type Location 12/23/2017 Theft 9999 Collins Ave Bal Harbour police were summoned to the Bal Harbour Tower Condominiums regarding an allegation of employee theft. When the officers arrived, management personnel notified the officers that a former employee entered the property and removed some items from several employees' handbags and fled. Officers conducted an area canvass, however, were unable to locate the former employee. A routine computer check revealed the former employee has an active arrest warrant. A flyer depicting the former employee's picture was published to the surrounding police agencies. The Bal Harbour Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating the incident. 3 BAL HARBOUR POLICE DEPARTMENT MIGUEL DE LA ROSA Chief of Police Weekly Summary Report eAcr$4. o X'` Date Incident Type Location 12/26/2017 Arrest Park Drive & Bal Cross Drive While patrolling the residential gated community, a Bal Harbour officer observed a vehicle tailgate another and enter the gated district through the Bal Bay resident's gate. The officer conducted a traffic stop and requested identification from the driver. A routine history check revealed the driver had an active arrest warrant.
