The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to provide you with details of Bal Harbour
Village's sponsorship of the 2018 Beach Polo World Cup taking place in Miami Beach from
January 4-7, 2018.
The Beach Polo World Cup is a series of polo matches which are played on the beach on
22nd Street in Miami Beach. There are a number of other associated events taking place
in Miami Beach and Bal Harbour Village during this weekend. A program schedule of all
events is attached and additional details are available at: www.miamipolocup.com.
At the October and November 2017 Resort Tax Committee meetings, the Resort Tax
Committee members discussed and approved a sponsorship of this event as it falls into
the type of regional event taking place that Bal Harbour Village would like to be associated
with. Our sponsorship includes the naming rights to one of the women's polo teams,
including branded Bal Harbour Village uniforms and custom designed team shirts;
branding and logo placement on banners at the polo matches; a Bal Harbour Village full -
page ad in the Beach Polo Magazine provided to all attendees; inclusion in the event's
social media campaign, ads in the upcoming St. Moritz (Switzerland) and Kitzbuhel
(Austria) Polo event magazines; and participation in an event to present the Women's polo
teams at the Bal Harbour Shops.
Below is a summary of the events associated with Bal Harbour:
Friday, January 5, 2018
6:00 p.m. - Beach Polo Women's Cup Team Presentation in the center courtyard of the Bal
Harbour Shops featuring all players on the women's team (wearing their Bal Harbour
uniforms) and a polo horse with a Bal Harbour Village branded blanket. This event will also

give guests, tourists and residents a chance to interact and take photos with the players
and a polo horse using a social media photo booth which will be available. This event is
open to the public.
6:30 p.m. - VIP private cocktail event at David Yurman at the Bal Harbour Shops. If you
would like to attend, please RSVP with Alex Cardelle.
Saturday, January 6, 2018
2:30 p.m. - Women's Polo match (featuring the team in the Bal Harbour uniform) on the
beach (22nd Street in Miami Beach).
All polo matches on the beach are accessible to the general public in public viewing areas.
Check the schedule of events for days and times. No reservations are needed, so feel free
to attend.
