Tybee Island, GA – (February 12, 2009) Shoppers had their walking shoes on and went from the North End to the South End to shop merchant’s sidewalk sales and resident sale locations. The feedback received has been overwhelmingly positive. Tybee Island’s first Island Wide Sidewalk Sale on January 24, 2009 was a hit for businesses and locals! Twenty two Merchants participated by offering huge savings on a variety of merchandise from seasonal items to artistic must-haves and more. Residents were stationed in two central locations within the business districts and there were individual yard s ales throughout the island that day. The Sidewalk Sale provided a boost for the businesses and brought the community together. Many businesses are reporting record sales! One comment was “This was our best day since summer”! Others were thrilled to meet so many locals. Many agree the event should happen again. Shop, dine and enjoy the land and the sea year round on Tybee!
