The first warning was issued to residential property for an appearance issue involving an awning. The second warning was issued to a property which had left bulk waste out several days prior to the scheduled pick up day. The final two warnings were issued to construction sites for maintenance and appearance issues. Criminal Investigations Division Weekly Summary Report Comments: The Criminal Investigations detectives drafted and circulated recent arrest flyers on individuals who were identified and arrested in multiple grand theft offenses. The flyers were issued to all Bal Harbour officers and the surrounding law enforcement jurisdictions. Additionally, the detectives met with the Assistant United States' Attorney regarding potential criminal indictments in an active fraud investigation. Noteworthy Incidents / Arrests Date Incident Type Location 01/20/2018 Arrest 9700 Collins Ave (Bal Harbour Shops) Comments: Bal Harbour police were summoned to the Bal Harbour Shops (BHS) regarding a dispute involving a Bal Harbour Shops security guard and an individual on BHS property. Bal Harbour officers arrived and located the parties. Subsequent investigation revealed the BHS security guard was struck during the dispute. The individual was arrested and charged with battery, possession of illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Date Incident Type Location 01/21/2018 Battery 9800 Collins Ave Comments: While patrolling the Collins Avenue corridor, a Bal Harbour officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that committed a traffic infraction. When the officer issued the driver the traffic citation, the driver became enraged and threw the citation at the officer, striking him in the face. The driver was arrested and transported to jail.
